Avon Old Farms (Conn.) takes a 6-0 record and the No. 6 ranking in the latest national Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse High School Power Rankings into its game today against Bridgton Academy.

Five Winged Beaver seniors will be continuing their careers at the collegiate level, with the latest deciding on a destination being Taylor Hahn.

Hahn, a native of Keene, N.H., was team captain and defensive MVP of Avon Old Farms’ 2011 junior varsity team.

The 5-foot-6 Hahn uses his speed and stick skills on clears and is also a strong stopper, as shown in his highlight reel.

recruiting_updateNow, here’s a Q&A with Taylor on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
Most importantly, I wanted to find a school that had an outstanding reputation and would challenge me academically. Choosing a program that has the potential to push deep into the postseason was also a big factor.

What I like the most about (Union Head) Coach (Paul) Wehrum is that he knows where he wants to take the program over the course of the next four years. He reminds me a lot of my current high school lacrosse coach, Skip Flanagan.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
Before deciding upon Union, I had visited Colorado College, Middlebury and Holy Cross, but also strongly considered Sewanee, Trinity, Providence and Haverford.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
My biggest strength is my ability to clear the ball intelligently. I can hit the fastbreak pass or clear the ball with my legs if necessary. I’m very conservative when saving and clearing.

What area of your game do you need to work on?
The area of my game that needs the most work is making saves from within five yards.

How did you get introduced to lacrosse and what other sports have you played?
Matt, my younger brother, first introduced me to lacrosse in fifth grade. This was my second year running varsity cross country and first year playing squash on varsity.

Until this year, I had been playing ice hockey during the winter, since just about the time I was beginning to walk.

What travel team did you play on last summer and what showcase events did you participate in?
I played my club lacrosse with the 2013/2014 3D Select New England team. This summer, we attended the Denver Shootout, finished third at King of the Hill Session I, and took second at FLG in 3D to the 3D Colorado guys.
