  11. slacrosse says:

Congrats to Pac. Was a very good and tight game (mamo missed a point blank shot near end for a tie). IMO MVP’ s for both teams were the goalies who made many great saves. Good players on both sides. Among others Haynes form Pac continued to impress at LSM as well as Conley and Greenberg for Mamo.

As I thought, Mamo is definately for real. Both these teams + Arlington and LP will be battling it out for Class A title. Interested in how LP shows tonight vs my Rye team.

  28. slacrosse says:

    8-4 Rye wins

  29. slacrosse says:

Good win for Rye with the O and D playing very well in all phases, much improved from their last game. Also a major key was dominating possession at FO (Santangelo) and ground balls. The one negative was with about 6-7 minutes left and a 6-1 lead LP scored 3 quick man-up goals with Prunty scoring 2 of them (he had 3-4 goals).

  30. slacrosse says:

    Jay score?

  31. slacrosse says:

    Tyler DeVito – 3 Goals

    Saves:

    Nik Genualdo – 15

  33. pops says:

Jay won 5-3. Up 4-0 at half….Arlington mistakes and lower lax IQ the difference. Arlington had 2-3 shots in last 2 mins…jay goalie not a lot of saves but some big ones in late 4th.

    • up north says:

I think it was lapses of poor execution versus lax IQ but that’s just my opinion. Jay was obviously the favorite and deserved the win. It was a great defensive battle and fun to watch…

  34. LaxLessons.com says:

    Darien 2 – 2 – 4 – 1 = 9

  35. WestLax says:

Section 1 POWER RANKINGS week April 7
    1. Yorktown
    2. Bronxville (closing gap)
    3. John Jay (nice win vs. Arlington, Schur still has work to do)
    4. Rye (outplayed a good L/P for 3-1/2 qtrs.)
    5. Mahopac
    6. Arlington (Jay slowed them a little)
    7. Somers (another tough loss to a team outside sec. 1)
    8. Mamaroneck (heartbreaker vs. Pac)
    9. Brewster
    10. Suffern

Watch list: Hen Hud, Put Valley and L/P

    • slacrosse says:

Mamo-Saw them yesterday and despite 1 goal loss to Pac feel one of best teams in Section-would put them right below Bville.

At this still early stage I’d put Pac, Somers (lost to a strong NC team) Rye, Arlington and Jay in an unsorted group right below Mamo witH LP ,Suff , Brewster , Greeley and Byram Hills in another group. To be sorted out in detail in a week.

      • South of 287 says:

Not sure why you would put Mamo ahead of Pac after Pac came down to their place and won. Mamo may have more offensive firepower, but got to give credit to the W on the road.

        • slacrosse says:

I do give Pac credit for all the points you raised but after aeeing the game, feel at this point that Mamo is the stronger team. Just a feeling. Could be proven wrong (wouldn’t be the first time).

          • slacrosse says:

Maybe a bit more specific as I really like Conley, Greenberg Malas and Brill in goal + some solid poles. Obviously really good players for Pac as well including Thompson( shut down until the end), Haynes and their goalie, among others .

          • South of 287 says:

Agree Mamo has firepower. Team may need more off-ball movement.

Definitely a favorite in Class A along with Arl and Pac. I’m sure L/P is in the convo by play-off time as well.

  36. Old Rugger says:

JJ Arlington game. Arlington Goalie is for real solid high and low good quick clears he definetly stood out. On the JJ side multiple off sides and too many men on the field calls that shouldn’t happen at the level JJ wants to play at and thats about it.

  37. just a ffact says:

Nice win against ARLINGTON 5-3 r u kidding .Goalie is very good but only 5 goals.

    • Pops says:

Arlington’s goalie is the best in the section and there defense played really well Sat night. Thurs will be a great test to see if it was a fluke or the real deal. I expect them to finish better and score more goals then 3, but who really knows in high school lacrosse.

South of 287 I totally agree that class A has 3-4 teams that will contend for sure. LP will be going as usual by then.
