Seton Hill University women’s lacrosse coach Kristie Quigley and the driver of the team bus were both killed today in an accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

In a statement released this afternoon, the university said at least three passengers were seriously injured. There were 22 passengers aboard the bus.

Seton Hill, an NCAA Division II program based in Greensburg, Pa., was on its way to a scheduled game at Millersville University. Greensburg, Pa., is 35 minutes east of Pittsburgh.

A Baltimore native, Quigley, 30, was in her second year as head coach at Seton Hill. After playing college lacrosse at Duquesne University, she coached at Erskine College in Due West, S.C.

    Just terrible. What a tragic loss. Moments like this make you realize lacrosse is just a game. My thoughts and prayers are with her family today.
