Sophomores making verbal commitments has become commonplace in Division I recruiting.
It’s a relatively recent phenomenon. One that started in October, 2010 when Syosset (N.Y.) goaltender Ryan Feit announced his intentions to continue his lacrosse career at Johns Hopkins.
With National Letter of Intent Fall Signing Period set for Nov. 14-21, Feit, now a senior, will make that commitment binding.
Feit reflected on the sophomore commitment trend this past week. It’s among the topics Joe Lombardi discusses in his weekly “High School Notebook” column on tristate lax for InsideLacrosse.com.
