Jordan Barlow wrapped up an impressive varsity career this past spring by helping Kingswood-Oxford (Conn.) win the Fairchester Athletic Association championship with a 12-5 win over St. Luke’s (Conn.).

The lefty attackman recorded 51 goals and 55 assists — numbers that bode well for his upcoming college career at Siena College.

But before the 5-foot-9, 165-pound Barlow becomes a Saint, he will be spending a post-grad season at the Trinity-Pawling School in New York’s Hudson Valley.

“He is a field general type player, and excels at playing behind the net,” Trinity-Pawling coach Nic Bell said of Barlow. “He is a creative, dynamic offensive threat and I couldn’t be more excited that he is joining us.”

Now, here’s a Q&A with Jordan on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
Siena is a small school, which is perfect for me along with their strong academics. The other main factor was that the history of Siena lacrosse is great and they do a great job in the MAAC conference, which has an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
The other school that I was really considering was Boston University. But I toured Stevenson University, University of Hartford, Manhattan College and Sacred Heart University.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
I think that my strengths as a player are that I can see the field well and I like to get my teammates involved. I like a fast style of play and like to push the ball in transition.

What areas of your game have you been working to improve on?
The areas of my game that I’m working on the most is my off hand and my outside and inside shooting with both hands.

Who have been some of the biggest influences on you during your development as a player?
The biggest influences on me have been the Powell brothers, Tommy Palasek, Ned Crotty and Marcus Holman.

What travel team did you play on and what were some of the big showcase events you participated in this summer?
During the summer I play on the CT Hurricanes under head coach Darryl Delia, who runs Progression Lacrosse. The biggest showcases and tournaments that I attended this summer were the Prep School Showcase, the King of The Hill Tournament and The Gait-Cup tournament.

Remember a pretty good player named Barlow for K-O a few years ago – James Barlow I think. Don’t think he played in college but a nice player. They must be brothers.

Seen both Jordan and James play many times (they are cousins). James is an All-American where I am pretty sure Jordan is not. But both had good K-O careers. Almost positive James went on to play DI. Good luck to both.
