In their two seasons as teammates on the Bronxville varsity team, Henry and Jack Grass have taken the Broncos to new heights — namely back-to-back appearances in the New York State Class C semifinals.

The Grass brothers will be hoping for a three-peat as Section 1 champions next spring. But even though Jack, who earned All-America  honors last spring, will be a senior, it won’t be the Grass brothers’ last shot at being on a title-winning squad.

That’s because last week, Henry Grass, one of the nation’s top rising sophomores, verbally committed to the same college destination as his brother — Johns Hopkins, as first reported at Twitter.com/joe_lombardi.

Henry Grass has good size (6-foot-1, 175 pounds), a strong shot and tremendous stick skills.

In addition to starring on the varsity level the last two years, the finishing attackman also performed well at several major summer showcases and was a target recruit of many of the nation’s leading programs.

Now, here’s a Q&A with Henry on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
I wanted to go to a school that competes for a national championship year in and year out. Also, I was visiting schools that were very good academically and close to home. The fact that my brother is going to attend Johns Hopkins University was also a huge factor. I loved the coaching staff, campus and facilities as well.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
UVa, UPenn, UNC, Johns Hopkins and Duke.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
A couple strengths that I have as a player begins with my ability to get to the cage and score goals. Another strong aspect of my game is my ability to finish. The fact that I am an aggressive rider helps a lot and it is a huge part of my game.

How big a factor is the fact that Jack has committed to Hopkins and that you will be teammates at the college level for two years?
The fact that I am given the opportunity to go to a great university and play with my brother for another two years after high school is unbelievable. … We are so excited and can’t wait to play together.

Who have been some of the biggest influences on you during your development as a player?
Mike McCall, who has been my summer league coach for three summers now. Also he coached my brother for two years so he definitely was a huge impact. And also Tim Horgan, my high school coach who I have played two seasons for, has definitely played a huge role in my development.

What travel team did you play on and what were some of the big showcase events you participated in this summer?
I played for the Westchester Predator this summer. I was also lucky enough to attend Maverik Showtime and Nike Bluechip.
