To say Jordan Lefranc has a tremendous upside would be an understatement.

The St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) rising senior has good size at 6-feet, 185 pounds. He can play attack or midfield and is strong with either hand. He’s also an effective feeder and finisher.

Lefranc’s best lacrosse is clearly ahead of him.

After his senior season with the Friars, he’ll be spending it outside Albany, playing for Siena College.

Now, here’s a Q&A with Jordan on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
There were three main factors that made me decide on committing to Siena.

The most important factor was the location of the college. Siena for me is a “home away from home,” since it’s only about three-four hours from where I live. Siena gives my parents the opportunity to come see all of my home games.

Second, the academics at Siena are awesome. Siena alumni have a great reputation of giving back to all the students to help with job opportunities and internship after college.

Another huge factor was (Siena Head) Coach (John) Svec. Coach Svec made me feel welcomed when I came to visit campus. He’s an awesome person as well as coach and I can’t wait to play for him.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
I was also considering High Point, Ohio State, St.John’s, Navy and Princeton.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
I would have to say my strength on the field is my versatility. I have no problem dodging from any spot on the field, but I would have to say I am a pass-first type of player. I really like to get my teammates involved by finding the open man and feeding the ball for an assist.

From behind, I really like to take the QB role of the offense and initiate with a dodge and look to fine the open man after I beat my defender.

What areas of your game do you think you need to work on?
Shooting would be something I will be working on a good amount this offseason. I have a fast lefty and righty shot, but I would like to improve on my accuracy. If I am able to do that, I truly feel I will have a huge impact on the D-I level.

Who have been some of the biggest influences on you during your development as a player?
I would have to say my dad. He was the one who put a lacrosse stick in my hand right away. He has also been teaching me how to become a better player ever since I was young and is always out there with me helping me get better everyday.

What travel team did you play on and what were some of the big showcase events you participated in this summer?
I played for Long Island Express this past summer and attending the NSCLA, Tri-State and the Brine Shootout. I also attended Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip.

Sounds like the kid has a big upside. Just needs to improve his shooting. Nice recruit for Coach Svec.

  2. Friar Tuck says:

No question, Jordan is primed for a big senior year.

  3. Lacrosse Analysis says:

Coach Svec is not only getting a good player but an excellent and polite kid. I had to chance to talk to Jordan a couple times this summer, he is such a unselfish and team player. This kid will be making an impact right away at the next level. Im pumped to see what the attack trio of Dylan Molloy(Brown),Matt Koerner(High Point) and Jordan can bring to the table, expect high point production from these three this upcoming season for the Friars.

Goaltending situation will be interesting for St A.
