Though he has not yet started his junior year of high school, Kyle Foote is already a two-year veteran of varsity lacrosse.

And he’s earned some high praise from his coach at Greenwich (Conn.) High School, Scott Bulkley.

“Kyle has one of the best split dodges I have seen,” Bulkley said of the natural right-hander. “His shot both right and left is awesome.

The 6-foot-1 midifielder’s strengths go beyond his size and skills.

“Kyle works very hard off the field,” Bulkley said.

It’s all added up to a scholarship offer from defending national champion Loyola, which Foote accepted late last month as first reported at Twitter.com/joe_lombardi.

Foote  played this summer for Chelsea Piers Lax and went to Maverik Showtime National Recruiting Spotlight. He had 19 goals and five assists in 12 games for Greenwich in the spring, missing several games with a concussion.

Now, here’s a Q&A with Kyle on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
I’m very happy to commit to Loyola University of Maryland. (Head) Coach (Charlie) Toomey, (Assistant) Coach (Dan) Chemotti, and the entire coaching staff were a good fit for me and Loyola fans are the best in the country. The campus is really nice and Baltimore is a great town and a good distance from home. The academics at Loyola offer everything I need to have a good college career.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
My strength as a player is on the offensive end. As well as setting teammates up to score,my split dodge and “on the run” shot are strong.

What areas of your game have you been working to improve on?
I’m always working to improve on the all around game with emphasis on shooting and general workouts.

Who have been some of the biggest influences on you during your development as a player?
Coach Pat Coleman and Eugene Miller ,head of The Greenwich Youth Lacrosse program ,along with other volunteer coaches in the program like, John Mahon, Jared Horowitz, Rich Pace, David Roth, Bob Flippin and Brian Finneran. On the high school level, Coach Joe Vrtiak, Frank Wells and Scott Bulkley.

I also had some great support from summer leagues like Chelsea Piers Lacrosse with Coach Mike Epstein and Coach Runks. Last summer, with CT Chargers, Coach Jeff Brameier, Jamison Love and Jackson Kineary, and at Big 3  lacrosse, Coach Andrew Fink.

I’ve always played up with my older brother, Eric, who has pushed me to become the player I am.

What travel team did you play on and what were some of the big showcase events you participated in this summer?
This summer I played for Chelsea Piers Lacrosse at King of The Hill(session 2), Tri-State and Blue and Gold Tournaments. I also participated in Maverick Showtime (all-star team) and Super Sophs (all-star team).
