Syosset has produced no shortage of college-bound players over the course of the last decade.

Last week, rising sophomore attackman Alex Concannon verbally committed to Johns Hopkins.

Earlier this week, Joe reported at Twitter.com/joe_lombardi that another Braves standout has made his choice.

He’s rising senior defenseman Harrison Schoenhaut.

The -6-foot-2, 170-pound Schoenhaut is a right-handed defenseman/long-stick midfielder whose size, speed and skills are apparent in his highlight film.

Now, here are Harrison’s thoughts on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
I fell in love with the school after my visit> It also has not only a great lacrosse program, but a great academic program as well. I also know many people that have went there and speak nothing but great things about the school.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
Salisbury, Oneonta, Hamilton, Dartmouth and Binghamton.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
I am very versatile as I can play long-stick middie as well as defense. My strengths as my speed, specifically when i have the ball in my stick as well as my stickskills.

What areas of your game have you been working to improve on?
Since I have made the commitment to play at Ithaca College, I have strongly been working on my off hand as well as my foot work.

Who have been some of the biggest influences on you during your development as a player?
John Calabria, my (head) coach (at Syosset), and Adam Swarsen, my trainer, who was a captain for Hofstra. My father (Robert) was also a major influence for me.

What travel team did you play on and what were some of the big showcase events you participated in this summer?
My high school team, Syosset, sticks together for the summer and forms a club team. I played in Top 205, Bluechip 225 and Dartmouth East Coast Lacrosse. I made the all-star team at blue chip and Dartmouth
