UA “New England” Underclass team is all prep kids with very few exceptions (congrats to all that made the team).

But not ONE kid from Darien, New Canaan, Wilton or Ridgefield on the team?????

slacrosse, I was at the UA New England tryout with my son and when I saw list of kids who made it I was a little surpised as well. But not really.

A good percentage of the players who made it had ties to the coaches who will be coaching the UA NE team( Taft, Avon Old Farms, Brien McMahon, etc) though many of those kids are deserving I was shocked by some of the choices.

Second-UA probably took in close to $40,000-$50,000 in registration fees just for the New England tryout and you mean to tell me they couldn’t scrounge up some ref’s to call the games or maybe some whistles to give to the “coaches” who were asked to call the games. It was joke especially for the kids facing off. Kids were jumping early, leaning over the ball and the violations were never called. It was disgraceful.

Sorry that your kid didn’t make the team (if he tried out).

Unfortunately “politics” always enters selections for teams like these.

Kind of like the LI team with the 2 coaches from Chaminade and St. Anthony picking a lot of their kids. Not one kid from NYS Class A champion West Islip or from some other top LI teams?

To clarify and emphasize above comments, not saying at all that the kids picked for New England and LI were not deserving and congrats to them.

As for LI I recognize that top player Dwyer (Garden City) was picked as well as a few other non Chaminade/St. Anthony kids.

Finals from the LI Lacrosse Showcase: Rising Seniors – Suffolk 6, Nassau 5 (OT); Rising Juniors – Suffolk 11, Nassau 10. Suffolk completed a sweep of the LI Showcase with a 13-9 win vs. Nassau in the Rising Sophomore game, the nightcap of the tripleheader.
