Thursday night’s Yorktown-Somers game at 7 p.m. at Somers High School will benefit the Stephanie Crispinelli Humanatarian Fund for the second straight year.

“The concession stand will be open and operated by the student council,” Somers coach Lew Janavey said. “There will be T-shirts and bracelets for sale, as well as a 50/50 drawing at halftime.

“Last year’s event was held in Yorktown and we hope to continue a tradition, for many years to come.”

Stephanie Crispinelli

02/15/90-01/12/10

2008 Somers High School Graduate

On January 12, 2010 Stephanie Crispinelli’s life was tragically cut short by the Haiti Earthquake. Stephanie was 19 years old.  She was traveling on the “Journey of Hope” mission with 2 professors and 11 classmates from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Stephanie was a sophomore majoring in Human Services.

Stephanie was in Haiti doing what she enjoyed most: working with and caring for the poorest of the poor. Stephanie was committed to helping poor, hungry, and disadvantaged children around the globe. Stephanie leaves behind family and friends who love her dearly as well as others that may have only known her beautiful smile.

Many have indicated a desire to help. We have established the Stephanie Crispinelli Humanitarian Fund in partnership with the Westchester Community Foundation.  Donations are 100% tax deductible.  All funds raised will be used to continue Stephanie’s Mission of helping the poor by supporting non-profit, US-based charities.

Please join The Stephanie Crispinelli Humanitarian Fund on Facebook or visit us atwww.Stephanie’sMission.org to stay up-to-date on how, with your support, Stephanie is changing the world, one child at a time.

All donations are greatly appreciated and may be sent to: The Stephanie Crispinelli Humanitarian Fund c/o The Westchester Community Foundation; 200 North Central Park Avenue; Hartsdale, NY 10530

Why are you constantly giving Coach Big Lew all the credit. This was not his idea. This was the idea of the Somers Yorktown parents who wanted to honor Stephanie and her mission.
Somers is not going to keep up with the GREEN Machine Thursday night!!!

Maybe I’m dense, but where in this article is credit given to Lew or imply that this was his idea? Don’t be a hater and let’s focus on the important things, the cause and the game. Have some class/perspective please. Thanks
