The Chaminade vs. Fairfield Prep game, scheduled for this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Fairfield University’s Alumni Stadium (above), has been postponed.

Chaminade lacrosse coaches and players will be attending the funeral mass for Chaminade great Jack Lenz (Class of ’43).
The game is being re-scheduled.

Funeral Arrangements for Mr. Jack Lenz ’43

Mr. Jack Lenz ’43 passed away on April 9, 2012.

Lenz was one of a group of alumni who re-founded the Alumni Association in 1964. He served as president from 1966-1967 and remained one of the mainstays of the Association for the rest of his life. In the late 1960s, he was a founding member of the Chaminade Board of Advisors. He worked on every one of the 41 annual Golf & Tennis Opens, directing most of them and building it into the success that it is today. Lenz also served as Chaminade’s Athletic Director and Director of Alumni from 1979-1987.

He was the father of two CHS alumni: John ’69 and Steven ’71.

    Funny how things work out. Wonder if FP would have pulled the upset if the game was played on the original date planned?
