A defending Connecticut state champion — and the defending FCIAC titlist — get things going today.

Ridgefield, which beat Fairfield Prep in last year’s Class L title game, hosts Greenwich, the 2010 FCIAC champs, in a 6 p.m. game at Tiger Hollow Stadium.

Darien, which beat Ridgefield in last year’s FCIAC championship clash, hosts Fairfield Ludlowe at 4:30 p.m.

In an intra-city Stamford clash, Westhill visits Stamford at 7 p.m.

The Long Island slate is highlighted by a 7 p.m. game in which Manhasset hosts rivals Cold Spring Harbor.

There are also a couple of big games in New Jersey as Bridgewater-Raritan hosts Ridge and Mountain Lakes plays at Ridgewood.

There are nine games on the Section 1 boys slate, including rivalry games between Mamaroneck and Scarsdale as well as Hastings and Irvington.

Don’t forget to check in with in-game updates and final scores from the field with your mobile devices. You can post them directly as comments on this thread, or, if it’s easier, email them to us at info@laxlessons.com.
