Those who crave offseason news involving the nation’s No. 1 hotbed for lacrosse, the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tristate region, weren’t disappointed this week.

Sophomore commitments continued to come in. Hen Hud goaltender Eddie Gilman became the Sailors’ second major D-I commit, verballing to North Carolina.

Yorktown saw its number of college committed players swell to 14, with three new commitments this week, including junior midfielder Danny Manning, who decided on St. Joseph’s. The Huskers, meanwhile, finalized their 2012 schedule, which is always one of the nation’s most challenging and power-packed.

There was even some big news beyond the tristate. The University of Michigan landed a pair of commitments from two standouts from New England – one from New Hampshire, the other from Rhode Island.

We recapped those stories in our weekly look at tristate lax for InsideLacrosse.com.
