It won’t be long now, gang.

The official start of practices for high school teams in the nation’s No. 1 lacrosse hotbed, the Hudson Valley/Long Island/Connecticut region, will be here before you know it.

For the third straight year, we’ll be going right to the sources to get an early read on how teams are shaping up — the ones right on the front lines.

The players.

Among the questions we’ll be asking:

* What have you been doing to get ready for the season?

* How does your schedule look, including scrimmages, and what games are you looking forward to?

* What player or players on your team do you think will surprise some people this season?

* What do you think the strength of your team will be this year?

* How do you view the race in your league and who do you think some of the contending teams will be?

The last two years, nearly 100 players have weighed in with their preseason thoughts.
