  1. Westchester Lax says:

Iona Prep visits Fordham Prep at 6:30pm. Fordham won the 1st matchup with a come from behind win in New Rochelle.

  2. Old Rugger says:

    ST A’s 9 Nade 8
Town 11 Rfield 9 (Town plays 4 qtrs as it gears up for playoffs)
Pac 12 Greeley 7 (HG not enough horses, long possession and FO key for them to stay in it)
The Pville SH game if records tell anything should ba a good game would love to hear some of either teams strengths, key players, as have not seen either this year and both should have high seeding in C playoffs. Based just on Strength of schedule and mutual teams (basically blind) Pville seems to have improved a goo deal thru the season as beeting teams the second time by much wider margins.

    Pville 12 SH 10

  3. HV Fan says:

I believe the Pville vs SH game will be at Sleepy Hollow at 445pm…I have seen both teams play….Pville does not belong in this league…not sure what they are accomplishing by blowing teams out the water by halftime…SH can score, their problem is the long poles..

    My predictions is:
    Pville- 15
    SH- 7

    • Old Rugger says:

Thanks for that. Pville is a small school and should be in C. They will see Bville and or Byram Hills which they won’t blow out.

  4. HV Fan says:

Game is at Pville at 445pm…just got confirmation

  5. heads up! says:

The St. Antthony’s Chaminade game is TOMORROW not today!

  6. heads up! says:

the game is 545 tomorrow! look at both schools websites. I just called Chaminade to make sure. JV is playing today varsity tomorrow

    • Joe Lombardi says:

The Chaminade-St. A’s game is indeed tomorrow at 5:45 at St. A’s. The info we received was incorrect. Thanks for the catch “head’s up.”

  7. Joe Lombardi says:

  22. ReLAX says:

FP scores w/4:11 left in half 9-5

  23. Not Really says:

    Correct score was
    Somers-9
    Arlington-8

Arlington scored twice in the last minute.

    • BigBadBear says:

still a nice showing by arlington

      • D-Pac says:

I wouldn’t want to be the team to face Arlington in the playoffs. They are pretty solid on both sides of the ball. Their D can hang with most offenses.

    • mrchooch says:

Yeah they scored on 2 of their 5 shots in last 2 mins……do the 2 goals in the last couple mins not count. What is ur point? Jesus give a young program some credit.

      • slacrosse says:

Not sure “Not Really” was trying to be condescending but I agree that Arlington deserves a lot of credit for battling to a one goal loss to a top Somers team. Keep up the good work!!

  24. sec1 says:

    7-4 Ridgefield Half

  25. ReLAX says:

IP scores w/ 2:44 left 9-6 & are on the attack again w/ 3 great opportunities but their shots flew high & wide 9-6 half ends on a save by IP’s goalie who is the only line of D. Goalies both playing decent but D by both teams were questionable

  26. sec1 says:

    8-4 Ridgefield 6:11

    • Lax Novice says:

      Hows the PA guy doing?

      • factcheck says:

He says hi and invites you up to the booth to demonstrate how it should be done. Then he can try his hand at writing pithy little put-downs on Lax Blogs to show the guys at the club what a winner he is like you.

        • Lax Novice says:

If he went to a game at Manhasset HS he would see how it should be done, as opposed to the shameless rooting and disrespect for visiting teams that permeates Tiger Hollow.

May 18th is coming, looking forward to seeing you there. With no yahoo PA guy to make everyone feel better. The scoreboard will say it all.

  27. ReLAX says:

FP scores 40 seconds into 3rd 10-6 IP gets stopped w/ a save FP man-up 8min left 3rd score as emo ends 11-6 FP

  28. sec1 says:

    9-4 Ridgefield 3:58

    • Lax Novice says:

FYI Fairfield – Ludlowe, a team who may finish out of the Top 8 in the FCIAC and out of the league playoff, put up 15 against the Tigers on Saturday in a loss.

      • laxr says:

And Darien was up 16-0 on Ludlowe at the half when they pulled starters (and both Erretts twins were playing for Ludlowe)

      • Copps Hills says:

        Darien 9 Yorktown 6

        Ridgefield 14 Darien 8

Numbers don’t lie – and Ridgefield has Darien’s number – 2 wins in last 3 games – soon to be 3 of 4 on May 18

        • Doid23 says:

Actually, numbers can lie, especially when comparing scores

          • Lax Novice says:

Let him crow, that’s what every Connecticut team does before they play Darien. It’s what he has to say afterward that’ll be worth listening to.

        • Lax Novice says:

Oh, and try to get the name of the teams correct next time.

      • factcheck says:

Yup, they hung 15 on the Jr. backup goalie and a sophomore who was called up that morning. No excuses, a win is a win. Not all win’s are pretty with bow’s on them like they are at Darien

  29. sec1 says:

    11-5 after 3

    • Indian J says:

      Jay 10 Hen Hud 5

Via laxpower. I don’t know details or if it was close at a point.

Hen Hud seems to have improved overall as the season has progressed.

      • lax4life says:

Reasonably close in the 1st quarter, not so close after that. Too many unforced passing and catching errors and a few missed GBs for HH. Hud did dominate the FO X (14 of 17?). Also, senior long pole A.J. Small had a another strong game on D. He should be all-section again this year and, IMO, a credible AA candidate. Same old story for HH all season — eliminate the errors and they could be dangerous. As far as the Indians go, they played a strong disciplined game. Some very nice finishes from the cutters and from behind the goal. Strong D too.

        • Laxinit says:

Couldn’t agree more, HH could not pass and catch. As far as there D-pole AJ Small, I agree should be considered for AA he has carried that team all year.

  30. ReLAX says:

FP scores again 12-6 IP’s D had back to back penalties. 2 flags down refs sorting it out w/ 2:33 left both teams lose a man. IP scores w/ a flag being dropped but eventhough FP was down they win the FO & score 13-7 FP down a man again call TO after stealing the ball 4sec left 3rd. Penalties & goals most of the Qtr 4th coming up still 13-7

  31. sec1 says:

  34. sec1 says:

    13-5 Ridgefield 7:56

  35. ReLAX says:

  36. sec1 says:

    14-5 Ridgefield z4:25

  38. sec1 says:

    14-7 Ridgefield 2:15

  39. sec1 says:

    14-8 Ridgefield 1:47

  40. YEA says:

Jay game not as close as the score but Hen Hud has definitely improved and put in a good effort. Jay was up the whole game and was slowing it down after the 3rd and put in backups for the most part to finish the game.

  41. ReLAX says:

Both teams score w/in a min 15-9 FP 6:25 left IP man-down on a bad call. FP scores 16-9 5min left IP scores 4:46 left 16-10 IP down a man down again call TO w/ possesion 4:17 left

  42. Joe Lombardi says:

Quite a game today in NJ – Summit edged Ridgewood 7-6 to extend its win streak to 61 games.

    • laxidasicle says:

3-2 ‘field at half… summit scores 3 unanswered to go up 5-3… ‘field responds w/ 3 unanswered to go up 6-5 w/ 3 mins left… sonny round of summit ties it w/ a minute to go… summit scores w/ 30 secs left to keep the streak alive @ 61 straight!

    • laxidasicle says:

      oooops! meant ‘wood… ridgeWOOD!!

  43. Curious says:

Who does everyone think will be the section finalists in section one for Class A, B, and C?

  44. ReLAX says:

Really ugly game 16-10 FP too many penalties sloppy D led to the 26 goals

  45. HV Fan says:

Pville beat SH 11-6…game was tied 6-6 in the 3rd quarter and then Pville ran the last 5 goals…rematch on Mon afternoon at SHHS

  46. Just a Fan says:

Whats the deal with Town today?

    • factcheck says:

Perhaps they just lost to a better team.

    • Lax Novice says:

      Was the final score 14 – 8?

      • Just a Fan says:

factcheck- really, be realistic. Better team that night, agreed, but not a better team. Looks like a big let down by Town following the CMC.

        • P&G says:

I don’t think Ridgefield is 6 goals better, but I do think they are the better team.

        • laxr says:

How can you say this? What has Yorktown done to override the convincing head-to-head loss? It’s especially ironic because Town fans where mad at me when I said Darien had a bad game against them.

        • Big Easy says:

Just a Fan- you have lost all credibility. You are entitled to your opinion, but how you can say that Yorktown was better than a team that smothers their offense and scores 14 against their defense is hard to justify….did they come out flat before or after they went up 4-1 in the 1st quarter?

        • factcheck says:

Seriously?? Why can’t you guys just tip your hat and say nice job? Why is every loss by Yorktown accompanied on this site by a bunch of reasons why they actually were better and should have won? (the ref’s, the sun, some guy didn’t play, we pulled our starters, blah blah blah) You’re not. You didn’t. Not against Darien or Ridgefield…

    • Lax Novice says:

The results of the FCIAC – Section One intersectional games this season is now 7-2 FCIAC. I haven’t seen a score for Danbury-Carmel which was scheduled for yesterday.

Next up is this coming Saturday when Greenwich crosses the border to take on the white-hot Rye Garnets.

      • Big Easy says:

The top teams in the FCIAC this year are better than the top teams in Section 1. Period. End of story. Danbury will beat Carmel, Greenwich will beat Rye as well.

      • slacrosse says:

Yeah CT definitely has it over Section 1 as far as W/L goes for all CT/Section 1 games.

Maybe more interesting to compare W/L record of “traditional” top teams in FCIAC vs same in Section 1.

Still good advantage to FCIAC 4-2 so far:

Record Vs top Section 1 Teams

        Darien: 1-0
        Ridgefield: 3-0
        New Canaan: 0-2
        Wilton: to play Town
Greenwich: to play Rye and Lakeland Panas

        • Blue White says:

Slight correction with New Canaan at 1-2

        • Lax Novice says:

I’m not sure why we’re splitting hairs about the subjective “traditional top teams” as opposed to simply listing all of the intersectional games, other than with Danbury’s 13-8 win over 1st-year varsity program Carmel that the overall advantage the count is now FCIAC 8 – Section One 2. I think it’s more instructive to show that at least in 2011 the overall strength of the Fairfield Co. region is significant over our Westchester-Rockland counterparts, just as the Nassau, Suffolk and Central NY regions enjoy. Next year may be different, who knows.

And to illustrate which schools are holding their heads high in this comparison, here’s how Section One is doing:

          Rye 1-0
          Somers 1-1
          John Jay 0-2
          Yorktown 0-2
          Mamaroneck 0-1
          Horace Greeley 0-1
          Carmel 0-1

Rye-Greenwich should be a great game, good luck to all.

  47. Joe Lombardi says:

    Arlington -3-1-1-3=8
    Somers – 3-3-2-1=9

    Arlington scoring:

    Conner Lindsey- 4g 1a
    Brenden Cahill- 2g 1a
    Zach Basso – 2g 1a
    Ryan Purdy -1a

    J.D Colarusso– 8 Saves

    Somers scoring:

    Rob Cegielski – 1g
    Matt Dalton – 1a

    Chris Cousin 9 saves

  49. Big Easy says:

Where is my man Slacrosse with his hating on Ridgefield now? Chirp, Chirp, Chirp………….

    • slacrosse says:

Never made or have made any “hate” comments on Ridgefield–or any other team. But yeah can’t be surprised that comments about who will win a particular game, etc always has the chance to bring out psycho fans calling it “hate”.

    • Really? says:

Aside from being a “Rye” guy, Slacrosse is one of the most informed and impartial bloggers on here. Always look forward to his posts.

  50. Kevin Mullin says:

Did Walter play against Hen Hud he had no points

  51. Down State lax says:

Hey Laxr The sun played a big part in the game for both team.Town up 4 1 with sun 2 there back.Ridgefield had sun 2 there back up 7-4,then rest of game Ridgefield wanted it more and Ytown pulled starters out.Roy left his in longer.Number 5 should be going some where other than Vermont the kid can shoot.

    • laxr says:

Well, even if you are going to assume the sun played a part, then by your own admission each team had the advantage for a quarter. Sounds like it balances out, and Ridgefield was 3 goals better over those two quarters.

    • Big Easy says:

Yorktown “pulled ” their starters with the score at 12-5…with about 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Ridgefield matched their subs and the Ridgefield backups let in 3 while the Ridgefield backups scored two. Goaltending for Yorktown was not good…not in the sun, out of the sun, or in the second half once the sun had gone down and the lights came on. The better team won this game. Period. If you are a Yorktown fan, have a little respect and humility and move on to the next game.

      • laxr says:

Well put. I remember being shouted down when I mentioned that Darien pulled a few starters and started running out the clock before Yorktown scored their last two goals against them, so it’s funny to see Town fans try to say they pulled starters when this game was still undecided. On another note, what’s up with Ridgefield? They have been wildly inconsistent, beating Town, almost losing to Ludlowe, losing to Wilton and Greenwich, beating Somers, etc…it’s hard to gauge where they stand in the FCIAC pecking order (but then again that’s been the story of the league this year).

        • factcheck says:

Teenagers, what can I say! Greenwich game was close, Wilton game was not. Ludlowe game featured inexperienced goalies but hey, no excuses. You line up with who you have. Only consistent team in CT this year is Darien.

slacrosse, it is a shame…pre-season Inside Lacrosse No. 8 or 9 in the nation, you won’t meet a harder working kid. Team Captain, just a very hard way to go through his senior season.

I agree he can’t get AA consideration, looking forward to seeing him play again next year at Hopkins.
