Hey, gang.

If you check out our “Updated recruiting review and commitment rundown” each day, you learned late yesterday that junior attackman Ryan Hunter, who has been a starter for Syosset since his freshman year, has committed to Ohio State. We’ll hear from Ryan on his commitment coming soon.

Now, our focus turns to Fox Lane High School in Bedford. The Foxes have had several players go on to make impacts at the college level the last few years, including Alex Weber (Penn), Max Mauro (Penn), Sean Le Floch (Stony Brook), Jay Lucas (Ithaca) and Luke Robinson (Ithaca).

From the Class of 2011, the Foxes have one major D-I recruit in goaltender Cameron Stephens, who gave a verbal commitment to Ohio State in early July.

But Stephens is not the only Fox Lane senior set to take his skills to the next level.

Meet Graham Werner.

The 6-3 midfielder, who has good stick skills to go along with his size, will be playing his college lacrosse at Clark University in Worcester, Mass.

Here’s a Q&A with Graham on his commitment:

What were the main factors in your decision to commit to Clark?
I picked Clark because of their great academics and Coach (Jeff) Cohen’s plans for building a strong lacrosse program.  I also really enjoyed my stay with the guys and felt at home there.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
I was also considering Franklin & Marshall, Susquehanna and Trinity. I visited all these schools.

What adjustments do you think you will need to make to play at the next level?
I will need to get a lot faster and stronger to be successful at the next level.  All the players in college have great footwork and are very strong.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
I am a smart player with a good shot and good stick skills.

What players have you looked up to as you have moved up through the varsity ranks?
I have looked up to my personal coach, Adam Gerber, T.J. Tynan, Conor Morris and Noah Hammer.  All these guys have great manners and integrity.  They are all-around great guys that have encouraged and helped me to get better.

When did you first realize you had the potential to play at the college level?
I had always known that I wanted to play in college but I didn’t really know that I had the potential till this summer when I started to playing well in the tournaments and getting letters.
