The college football season is under way.

The NFL regular season begins on Thursday night.

But lacrosse is still very much in the air with plenty of fall travel tournaments — not to mention college fall ball events — on the horizon in the coming weeks.

Here’s a rundown of some of the major events on the schedule, first for fall travel teams:

Franklin & Marshall Fall Brawl Tournament – Oct. 16-17

Trinity College Tournament – Oct. 24

UMass Tournament – Nov. 7

Quaker Fall LaxFest Tournament at Radnor (Pa.) High School – Nov. 7

King of the Mohawk Tournament at Lehigh – Nov. 13-14

Siena Tournament – Nov. 14

F4 Combine (Baltimore area) – Nov. 14

Rutgers Tournament – Nov. 20

Yale Tournament – Nov. 21

    Westrock tryouts at Somers High School on Sept. 26.

    That program is going to get uber-competitive with the recruiting season it’s having; lots of guys going to lots of schools. Be there and have a great time.

    No question, Lax Mom. With fall ball and most major recruiting commitments made from September through November, there is always lots going on lax-wise in the fall.

    The Turkey Shoot Tournament returns to Ithaca after a two-year run where the tourney was held in Rochester. The Turkey Shoot is one of the original fall events dating back almost twenty years. The Junior Tourney (grades 1-10) will be held Nov 6-7 and the Varsity Tourney will be Nov 13-14. The website link:
