Get ready, gang. It’s time for the Sound Shore League to crown its champions. For the uninitiated, the Sound Shore League includes a 31-year-old men’s league made up of teams from Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Fairfield counties, as well as a high school league.

Hotbeds action heats up
It marks the unofficial end of the July Division I evaluation period. Its the Battle of the Hotbeds at the University of Delaware, and action is heating up in the event, which started yesterday and ends on Wednesday.
LI wins fifth straight gold medal
Hicksville’s Brandon Gamblin scored four goals as Long Island won its fifth straight Empire State Games gold medal by edging Central 7-6 today at Canisius College in Buffalo.

Recruiting events at Yale, Hofstra
Next week, the most tradition-rich summer lacrosse recruiting showcase, the Empire State Games, gets under way in Buffalo. But there are some other big events beforehand. Yale and Hofstra are both hosting major tournaments on Saturday and Sunday.

LI, HV ESG rosters, schedule
Here are rosters for the Long Island and Hudson Valley scholastic men’s lacrosse teams that will be competing at the Empire State Games July 21-25 in the Buffalo/Niagara region. The HV team is made up of 20 players and 10 alternates. Long Island lists all players on its roster.
