Anyone with a final score Ridgefield v. Greenwich?

  15. Cardslax says:

    Greenwich wins 8-5!!!

  16. Lax Fan says:

Sleepy Hollow ranked 12th, upset 5th Nanuet 7-5. SH was down by 2 goals then scored 4 unanswered to take the lead and the game. Didn’t really think Mooney is all that good, alot better players in C/D. Good job by the Horsemen, it’s an excellent win for their program based that lax isn’t their main sport. Kids played their heart out and their coach deserves a win like this.

  21. slacrosse says:

IMO big key for HG was dominant FO possessions. HG goalie looked strong as well.

Gotta tell ya, those HG coaches are SO enthusiastic during the game always vocally cheering/hi-fiving the kids, really aggressively involved in the game–lots of positive energy!

  22. ctlax says:

Wilton is up on New Canaan…

  23. SirLaxalot says:

NCAA quarterfinal results today from Princeton:

    Notre Dame 7, Maryland 5

(Notre Dame will play the winner of tomorrow’s Cornell-Army quarterfinal at Stony Brook on May 29 at either 4 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. in the semifinals in Baltimore.)

    Duke 17, North Carolina 9

(Duke will play the winner of tomorrow’s Virginia-Stony Brook quarterfinal at Stony Brook on May 29 at either 4 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. in the semifinals in Baltimore.)

  25. Bronco Bob says:

    Bronxville 19, Kennedy 6 (final)

  26. BigBadBear says:

congrats to Rye, dominating game…and congrats to the B’Cliff seniors, good luck to you, you still have one more game!

  27. Cards Lax says:

    Bring on Darien!!!

  28. two niner says:

Hen Hud controlled game and beat Tappan Zee with a score of 12 – 3.

  29. Laximus says:

    Hen Hud beat TZ 12-3.
Here’s how the 4 Class B quarterfinals look for Tuesday:

    Horace Greeley at Ossining
    Hen Hud at John Jay

    Other side of the bracket…
    Eastchester/Brewster winner at Mamaroneck
    Somers at Scarsdale

Given Ossining’s shaky showing today (1-goal win over Harrison?!?) and overall weak schedule, Greeley at JJ in one semi seems like a lock.

  30. ctlax says:

New Canaan beats Wilton. Wilton was up all first half and lost it in the second half yet again. N.C. will be the team that Staples has faced all year.

  31. LI Guy says:

    Wogue 9, Islip 6
    Chaminade 9, Holy Trinity 3

  32. Pelican Brief says:

    Pelham 12, Haldane 0

    Nick Poolee Perrorazio 4-1
    Doug Eich 1-4
    John Hanlon 3-1

  33. slacrosse says:

Hey it was tough for Bcliff but they kept playing full speed and didn’t hang their heads at all. Their goalie made some really nice saves. Understand their youth program is in place and will be bearing fruit so the future looks bright!!

  34. Major Guts says:

Woah, talk about uebos. I spoke to a friend of mine, who’s son plays at Ossining.

Yesterday, the day before sectionals start, Coach Halinan in Ossining C-U-T seven players from the roster! Wow.

He was apparently tired of thier laxadaisical attitudes and showed them the door! Four long poles…gone. Including a starter and two guys who play alot of minutes. Well not any more they don’t. A few others were middies.

Then this morning a few guys were a few minutes late for warm up and coach told them to not even bother to suit up for the game. They dressed like 16-17 guys.

and the players and parents all support it!

They all say they’d rather lose with guys who care then to win with guys who only care sometimes.

I don’t know if coach can be called a great strategist, but the guys got cahones! Wow.

    Go Eagles!

  35. slacrosse says:

Can someone lay out a sched of the next games in C?

  36. no_style_points says:

That post by major guts is looking much like a “leak” by an Ossining mom or dad. lol. If it’s all true it’s a major shake up.

Posts like laximus are the reason why I started blogging here.

    THERE ARE NO STYLE POINTS!

O did what they had to do and got the job done. I wish I saw the game. If anything, the Greeley coaches are probably scratching their chins a little and saying, “Hmmm. Interesting.” Ossining has a higher RPI than Greeley too, which does not include any style points.

I saw HG and FL today. I wish I knew that slacrosse was at the game!
Greeley played with great enthusiasm, did alot of things well and alot of things poorly. They can win on Tuesday and we’ll know if they do…on Tuesday. If HG looks past O, there’s a good chance the Quakers will be able to get ready for prom season nice and early.

I love that post above, the guy who scored the 21st goal for Darien got yelled at and pulled from the game. But what, the guy who scored the 20th goal got Player of the Game? lol. What nonsense. I wish they kept him in so he could have scored 22.

Lax Fan chimed in for Sleepy Hollow. The Sleepy team is a great group of kids and Coach DiVico has been patiently building his program from absolute zero.
Mooney is a good player and nobody cares whether or not lacrosse is Sleepy’s big sport or not. They’re on the field, which means they either succeed or fail. Don’t overblow their success nor understate their failures. Keep it competitive.

Congrats to the Kennedy Gaels and the Savastanos. I know they got hammered today, but this is probably my favorite story of the year because I don’t think Kennedy has ever won five games in a season, nor gotten to the sectionals. There are five reasons for them to greatly raise their expectations for next year and if they don’t improve…well, I’ll be there. lol.

Hen Hud seems to be emotionally peeking at the right time. Nice win.

  37. Observer says:

    Here you go sla…

    Class C quarterfinals on Tuesday:

No. 6 Rye at No. 3 Pelham
No. 10 Byram Hills at No. 2 Bronxville

    Other side of bracket …

No. 12 Sleepy Hollow at No. 4 Put Valley
No. 8 North Salem at No. 1 Pleasantville

  38. Doid23 says:

    Major Guts,

    Uebos? Is that like Webelos?
    or
Uebos? We don’t need no stinken’ uebos!

  39. IPpy Lax says:

St A’s-Iona CHSAA semi was a very good game. Much closer than the 2 reg season games between the two.

It was tied 4-4 at halftime. St. A’s finally went ahead 8-6 after the third. The final was 14-8.

Joe Locascio had 3-2 for St A’s. Schreiber 3-1. John Castellano had 4,0 for IP.

  40. Ride the Wave says:

Here are the matchups for the FCIAC semis on Tuesday at Brien McMahon. Final is back at McMahon on Friday…

No. 1 Darien vs. No. 5 Greenwich
No. 3 New Canaan vs. No. 7 St. Joseph-Trumbull

  41. Eagle Feather says:

    Eastchester Brewster score???

  42. Against the Odds says:

Joe, or anyone with the facts,
In section 1 what would be the highest seed number to win a champioship. I dont think anyone higher then a 4 has even made it to the finals?

  43. ere you go says:

    Brewster 17 Eastchester 3
    final

  44. slacrosse says:

    Observer,

    Thanx.

  45. slacrosse says:

Pretty decent game IP played vs SA. IP looked like a real good team vs Rye. Castellano of IP can get it done.

  46. slacrosse says:

    Ride the Wave,

Boy really thought Staples would make the party!

  47. Brewster Parent says:

    Brewster vs Eastchester
What more could you ask for than a Saturday night lax game….Great Atmosphere, great field and a all around class act down at Eastchester tonight. Keep your heads up and good luck in the future.

  48. Lax Fan says:

Why is Sleepy Hollow due to play Putnam Valley when they are the lowest seed remaining and Pville is the 1 seed?

  49. reLAX says:

Because Sleepy is the winner of the 5 vs. 12 game. Doesn’t matter if they are the lowest seed still alive. They don’t reseed. Quarterfinal matchups are done by predetermined brackets.

  50. SirLaxalot says:

5-12 winner always plays the 2 seed. 8-9 winner always plays 1 seed. Lax Fan – are you new to brackets and seeds? It’s all good, kid.

  51. slacrosse says:

    Garden City Fans,

Hey that 7-6 loss to St. Pauls looks better as SP just won the MIAA with a 17-7 win over Boy’s Latin.

  52. gimme a stick says:

    Brewster Parent…

    Thanks for those nice comments.

Unfortunately the Eagles did not keep it closer, but as you said in not so many words the program has its future to look forward to. Good luck the rest of the way you have an excellent team that moves the ball as well as any I’ve seen this season. Mamaroneck has a terrific defense so your next game should be a good one.

  53. Old Rugger says:

No Style points I’m with you on the Kennedy story. (I do have skin in that game). It was 1-0 9 minutes into the game (Bronxville had their Prom the night before and were a little slow to start but from the score you can see they found their stride)
Lax Fan you have to follow the brackets they are not reseeded each round. And yes If I were you I’d much rather play the 1 seed Pveill than the 4 seeded Put Val (Favorite)

  54. long time laxer says:

5-12 plays the 4 seed, 7-10 plays the 2 seed

  55. green alum says:

    Tuesday “A” predictions?

Look for the Arlington team to come out with a well designed game plan–understand coaches have been viewing film and making changes. They played Town strong doing the same thing. Suffern should not take this one lightly though they should be done in the next round anyway.

I still like White Plains over Pac. WP has momentum and a nasty attitude of late. Pac is built around a shot–need more than a shot to get to the section finals. Okie is a great QB but he doesn’t get the ball enough. McG can make a difference though he looked better last year this time. WP has a few explosive kids like Magee–they have never been here before and big ?s remain.

LP and Town should have very easy roads to semis. See Prunty and Hono continuing to score g’s–Burke & co should match up better the second time; KI and Remy are due for Town and if they play their game LP does has no answer. Still give goalie nod to koelsch–he has played big in some very big wins for town–LP goalie has been good but I do not recall a game where he was a big factor.. Even with LP’s Town win it was mostly awkward shots rather than goal tending that undid Town.

  56. Lax123 says:

    Green alum
Seeems like your predictions are what you want than the facts.suffern will destroy Arlington.Your Pac prediction makes absolutely no sense.seems like you wnt Pac and Suffern out of the mix .diont think thats gonna happen.Gonna be LPvs Pac and Suffern vs Town.Suffer is the team to watch Town better not take them lightly

  57. slacrosse says:

    Lax123,

Yes I see a pretty easy win for Suff over AHS.

I am looking pretty confidently for Pac to win over WP but I am a bit concerned over some “let-downs” by Pac over teams they should have beaten like Guilderland. As you said WP has some tough, good players in McGee (St. Josephs), Trapp and Greenfield (Dickinson).

Yeah I’m sure Town won’t take Suff lightly and they shouldn’t.

Ultimately seeing LP and Town in the finals. If these two meet and play their best I’m expecting a great game.

    Good luck to all.

  58. sectionals! says:

hen hud actually dominated tappan zee the day after they had prom, most players were on 4 hours of sleep..pretty impresive to win 12-3 in my opinion. Also i was at the hen hud-brewster game, everyone is saying how brewster already beat these teams id put money on HH to win if they played again.

  59. Brewfan says:

i can guarantee you that hen hud will not beat brewster if they play again

  60. green alum says:

Lax 123–way wrong–would love a pac v. Lp contest more than anything–(best scenario for Town too.) Just see Pac coming in flat–something which they have done alot. Again, unless their big man is clicking they don’t present much O. If Okie plays the way he can play and they get him the ball, another story.

Lax 123–wrong on AHS too just saying AHS should not be counted out. Good athletes and well coached. I didn’t say they were favored–they are not–but they could give a Suffern team a run if suffern is thinking about Thursday instead of Tuesday. Love nothing more than to see Town beat Suffern at Murphy field.

  61. D=PAC says:

The way the season is going this year, it could be Suffern vs WP in the final. Wow, would that leave us with a bad taste in our mouths! I believe Pac will win by a larger margin than when they beat WP 13-10, especially if Trapp doesn’t play. Pac’s defenseman #24, Parrillo, might not play as well. He did not play in the Suffern loss and was sorely missed. D has to step up and I believe they will.
