There are just a handful of teams left in the Hudson Valley/Long Island/Connecticut region that have gotten this far into the season without suffering at least one loss.

Two of them play one another today, on a day in which thunderstorms are expected to roll through the region in the late morning. There’s also a wind advisory from early afternoon through tomorrow morning.

There is a win advisory in effect in Manhasset. Defending Class C state champion Manhasset (12-0) hosts rival Cold Spring Harbor (13-0) at 6 p.m. in the aforementioned battle of unbeatens. Manhasset has been tested by a tougher schedule (with wins against Darien, John Jay, Chaminade and Garden City), but the Seahawks’ offense has been unstoppable of late, with 37 goals in its last three games. For more on the game, click here.

In the Hudson Valley, The Harvey School of Katonah puts its unbeaten record on the line against a Chase Collegiate team that checks in at 14-2. Both teams are 6-0 in league action. You can read more on the game here.

In another prep showdown, the No. 1 team in the Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse Top 25 High School rankings, Deerfield Academy,  plays the Winged Beavers of Avon Old Farms, who check in at 13-1. Avon Old Farms is coming off a 17-13 win over Brunswick. Deerfield, which is 12-0, beat Brunswick 16-5 to start the season.

In the Hudson Valley, Iona Prep (10-2), which has suffered a couple of highly contested losses to Rye (7-6) the last two years, hopes to break through with a win against the Garnets tonight at 7 p.m. at Rye.

Action in the Sleepy Hollow tournament ends with the 2 p.m. championship game between Ossining and the host Headless Horsemen and the noon consolation game between Croton and Hackley. Also at noon, Nanuet visits Don Bosco Prep of New Jersey in the second annual Connor Corish Memorial Tournament.

At 11 a.m., red-hot Pleasantville hosts North Rockland, Briarcliff is at Albertus Magnus, Fox Lane hosts Clarkstown South, Clarkstown North hosts Pascack Valley of New Jersey and White Plains hosts Mamaroneck, which has won seven straight since losing to Bronxville 13-3. Arlington, which is coming off a loss to Mahopac, has another huge test today when it faces Lakeland/Panas at 2 p.m. at Lakeland High School. Also at 2 p.m., Byram Hills hosts Queensbury. At 3 p.m., Put Valley visits Hen Hud. Mahopac hosts Guilderland at 7 p.m.

There is an intriguing inter-state battle on tap for 1 p.m. at Fairfield Prep when the Jesuits host Chaminade. The Jesuits’ lone loss was to another CHSAA team, St. Anthony. In another such matchup, unbeaten Staples hosts St. John the Baptist at noon at Staples Stadium. Also at noon, Norwalk visits Stamford. At 1 p.m., New Canaan hosts Danbury. Defending Class S state champion St. Joseph-Trumbull hosts Greenwich at 4 p.m. in Connecticut. Wilton plays at Fairfield Ludlowe at Taft Field at 3 p.m.

It’s a busy day in Nassau. In addition to the CSH-Set game, Division of Levittown visits Calhoun at 1:30 p.m.  At 11 a.m., Hempstead hosts Syosset and Plainedge is at Bethpage. At  1 p.m., Hicksville visits Port Washington and Garden City hosts MacArthur. South Side is at Hewlett at 7:30 p.m.

In Suffolk, Commack hosts Half Hollow Hills East at 1 p.m., and Sachem North hosts Middle Country at 2p.m.

Be sure to post your thoughts and predictions on these matchups, and while you’re at your game or games today, be sure to check in here with info on the scores and game details early and often.

Also, don’t forget, tomorrow is a special day for laxers and non-laxers – Mother’s Day – and an important day for college lax fans – Selection Sunday. (You can watch the unveiling of the selections and seedings at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow on ESPNU.)

    Hey, I’m first today.

You know what, I don’t need to say anything else. I’m just going to enjoy the moment.

Everybody have a great day of great matchups!

  2. Laxinupsec1 says:

Big statement game for mahopac. Guilderland beat them 10 or 11-0 last year

  3. knightsmom says:

There’s another matchup today with an emotional twist. The varsity teams of Don Bosco Prep and Nanuet will be playing each other to open the Connor Corish Memorial Tournament. Connor was a Nanuet native who was playing freshman lax at Don Bosco when he was fatally injured by a train several years ago.

  4. laxfansec1 says:

rye is on a roll with 4 straight wins and barton at the helm, not the same team we saw earlier in the season, theyr last few games have put up pretty big numbers

  5. Lax Dude says:

    laxfansec1
Careful, without Cole Rye may not be making playoffs, Rye goes well when Cole plays otherwise they struggle (PV, BH and Somers)

  6. slacrosse says:

    laxfansec1,

Yeah. Key for Rye will be the D playing at a consistent, solid level.

  7. slacrosse says:

    Lax Dude,

Yes, as well as D, McCormack’s presence not only on FO, but GB and on O is a key part of the team. While not 100% yet , he’s well enough to be producing big time.

  8. Murda lax says:

    Mamaroneck 9 – WP 5

  9. Dee-up says:

Cole is big on the face, but i feel it’s Rye’s transition game that needs a boast. Their offense can do fine. I’M thinking to much is made of Cole playing or not he bring a lot at the Face but they have enough talent and solid coaching to get it done

  10. slacrosse says:

    Dee-up,

Yes Rye has some very talented O kids aside from Cole that can put numbers up. But as I said above its not only his FO’s but other things he does on the field that makes for an impact.

Agree about transition being an area that has been problematic at times, as especially shown in the Q1 of the 2nd J game. Sure the team is working on it inc. getting the shorties helping earlier.

  11. Laxit says:

Consy of Sleepy Hollow tourney final:

    Hackley 16, Croton 7

  12. Lax Guy says:

    slacrosse,
Curious of your prediction tonight for Pac and Guilderland? You have been spot on all season and just wondering what you think??

  13. Laxinupsec1 says:

Yeah any mahopac/guilderland predictions? + any updates on l/p / Arlington?

  14. D-Pac says:

If Pac plays the way it did against Arlington, not that Arlington is as good as Guilderland, they should be fine. They held possession and drove to the net. Kept the pressure off their D. Have to be consistent. If Bota can step it up like he did last game, along with Foley and take the pressure off Bernarbo and Brandofino, they should score 12.
    Pac 12 -9

  15. geo says:

    pac 14-5

  16. who knows says:

i like guilderland 12-10 Mahopacs defense hurts them today

  17. LAX FUN says:

PAC game will be fun tonight at 7. Every home game they do a thing called the lax lob at halftime. You purchase tennis balls and throw them to a cone at the middle of the field. Closest to the cone wins. Tonight’s prize are two tickets to the Yankee/ Red Sox game with parking. Come out and enjoy the game and try the lax lob.

  18. geo says:

seriously guilderland is terrible pac should cruise tonight

  19. Getsum says:

Pac’s defense will flex like no other tonight..Pac will roll into an awesome game with lakeland panas next.. I got Pac tonight 16-7

  20. SirLaxalot says:

    F – Deerfield 11, Avon Old Farms 9

  21. valley_lax says:

    Sleepy Hollow Crown Trophy final:

    Ossining 12
    Sleepy 10

Staples 11 St. John the Baptist 3

  23. slacrosse says:

    Lax Guy,

Come on. Give me something hard to predict!! Ha, Ha.

Assuming Pac is playing well, easy win over Guilder 15-6

  24. laxhv says:

PAC14 Guilderland 6 Pac too much O Mcguigan strong between pipes Brando and company rolling

  25. Cardslax says:

Greenwich finally woke up against a good St Joe’s team. 13-3, shut out in 2nd 3rd and 4th quarters. May be a legit playoff contender. The next 2 weeks should be exciting.

  26. scorez says:

    Byram beat Queensbury 12-7

  27. Laximus says:

    Lakeland/Panas 15, Arlington 6

Almost identical to Arl score vs Pac 17-6

  28. mr lax says:

do we have a final of putnam valley vs hen hud game

  29. Panther Pride says:

    Pleasantville 13, North Rockland 5 … Pville now 9-1

    Anyone have Set-CSH updates?

  31. ReLaxin says:

Anybody see the L/P game vs Arlington? Thoughts?

  32. Laxit says:

    Haldane 7, Kennedy 6.

Looks like Kennedy will end up with 3 wins just like last year.

  33. Setter says:

Manhasset leads 5-0 on 2nd qtr

  34. PV-HH says:

Putnam Valley beat Hen Hud 10-9, after trailing 7-3 at halftime.

  35. mikey says:

kennedy still has 4 games left all winnable

    Croton
    Ossining
    Pearl river
    Haldane

  36. SWLAX says:

Congrats to mamaroneck for winning their league! They deserve it

  37. WhaleBelt says:

6-1 Set up at the half

  38. Jericho says:

Thanks WhaleBelt. You da man! Keep ’em comin!

  39. Doid23 says:

Since I haven’t been able to see any NY Lax games this year, may as well report on some games I have seen.

Just got back from the Highland Park Texas State Semi-final game, they smoked Dallas Jesuit 19-4. Some local connection, Jesuit is coached by Wilton/ Fairfield Prep grad Chris Surran, who also was a great goalie for Syracuse in the 90’s. HP just men among boys vs. the rest of Texas, and have beaten Lawrenceville, Arapohoe(CO), Loomis Chaffee, and Mullen (CO). Not sure if they are a Top 25 team, but definately in the discussion, and not a token West Coast team in any pole. They have a longpole going to Duke (Chris Hipps), who could play for any team in the country, also a great receiver who had many DI offers for football, just loves to play lax. The rest of the team has some very good stick skills, but they play a very physical brand of lax, more Long Island than MIAA. The rest of Texas would not be able to hang in the northeast, but HP most definately could, and would contend.

  40. Young Warrior says:

    Fairfield Prep v Chaminade?

  41. WhaleBelt says:

6-1 ‘Set, in the fourth q now

  42. Laxtime says:

    Chaminade 10, Fairfield Prep 4

  43. LI Guy says:

    Hicksville 13, Port 5

    Division 13, Calhoun 8

  44. Results says:

Chaminade 10 Fairfield Prep 3- Final

  45. Laximus says:

    Chase 10, Harvey 8 … Hale, Sousa 4 g’s each for Chase… Hickey 2,3 Handler 3-0 for Harvey

  46. Joe Lombardi says:

Manhasset now leads 7-2 with four minutes remaining.

  47. Joe Lombardi says:

    Final: Manhasset 7, Cold Spring Harbor 2;

Manhasset is now 13-0. CSH is now 13-1.

  48. kr says:

Any details from the Manhasset game

  49. BlueWhite says:

To Doid23: Highland Park is coached by Wilton/Duke alums Derek and Ross Thomson

  50. laxforfun says:

    Slacrosse,

Any Rye updates? Would love to see them win this

  51. yeah,sure says:

Mikey, dude, they ain’t beatin’ Ossining.

  52. Sec1 says:

    Rye 5 IP 4 end of 3

  53. whhhaaaaat? says:

Yeah, Mikey, Croton already smoked them too…16-9 on opening day.

  54. Observer says:

And Kennedy lost to Haldane today. So that leaves just Pearl River from Mikey’s list of 4 remaining “winninable” games. But Pearl River lost by just a couple of goals to N Rockland and beat Clarkstown South and is 8-5 so it looks like Kennedy won’t improve their record by a single win under the Savs from last year. I guess there’s atleast a chance they could beat Ossining though judging by Ossining’s shaky outing today vs. Sleepy?

  55. Sec1 says:

    Rye 6. IP. 4 Final

  56. Lax Novice says:

    Ludlowe – Wilton final anyone?

  57. laxforfun says:

    Great win for Rye.

  58. my list says:

  59. D-PAC says:

Mahopac was outhustled tonight. Final-Guilderland 8 Pac 6.
Mahopac O was not in synche. Guilderland D played very good and shutdown Brandofino. Mahopac had many more chances to score, but couldn’t find the net. Pac missed a great opportunity when they had a two man advantage and threw the ball away. When they started to attack the net halfway through the 4th quarter, they scored 4 straight goals. Guilderland’s team speed and ability to beat Pac to the ground balls made the difference. If Pac thinks Guilderland was quick, they have to travel to Lakeland on Thursday. Bad loss. Pac has 4 games before the sectionals. They will win Tuesday against Wappingers and then face Lakeland, the best team in the section. Pac must have a good showing. Can they pull an upset like they did against Somers? Offense has to keep possession, or it will be a long night. Then finish with a tough Put Valley team and then an improving Suffern team.

  60. doubtful says:

Observer, I feel you brother about the shaky O/Sleepy score, but no way kennedy beats Ossining…too much on both sides of the ball…I went to their games last night and today because they were close by and I had some time.

Ossining just won three games in three days…two on the road…they were dog tired today and still won easily enough. They gave up a few goals at the end of the game after they broke it open in the fourth and they weren’t losing that game.

In order for Kennedy to win they’ll have to throw it past Bardwell at least 8-10 times…ain’t happenin’.

    Try PearlRiv. LOL.

  61. Setter says:

    Set 7, CSH 2

    Stats

    Tompkins, Moroney each 2, 0

Matthews, Belinsky, Buhr 1, 0 each

Story of the day obviously was defense and jr goalie Frank Morelli, who made 14 big saves for Set. CSH played a slow deliberate pace to keep the score down. Set was up 2-0 in the first qtr and 6-1 at HT and had no reason to try to get it unsettled.

Doyle, Wallice had the goals for CSH.

  62. no_style_points says:

Sounds like a really big disappointment, D-Pac, but there’s still a long way to go.

They should not look past Wappingers.

  63. SWLAX says:

Again, SWLAX…find a new name please…this one is already taken.
Nice win for Rye over Prep…Put Valley had a scare…any details from either game?

  64. D-PAC says:

    SWLAX

What the heck happened with PV? No offense HH fans, but PV should have cruised in that one. You can’t take any team for granted this year. It all depends what kid, or team shows up that night. The sectionals may be filled with upsets this year. Guilderland gets trounced by Niskayuna, Somers beats Niskiyuna and Pac beats Somers, Crazy stuff!

  65. RyeGuy says:

I was waiting for slacrosse to chime in with updates from the game and info but since that doesn’t seem like its gonna happen I jotted down some stats…

    Rye wins 6-4 over IP

    McReddie 2-1
    OCallaghan 2-1
    Barton 1-0
    McCormack 1-0
    Bonaventura 0-1

Linehan 16 saves ** this was big **

Castellano 3 goals for IP, maybe an assist too. Not sure.

Their goalie, Kaiser, played a good game w/ 12 saves.

  66. slacrosse says:

Rye 6-4 over /Iona Prep on Rye’s Senior night

Real hard fought low-scoring game. IMO IP falls among the very best teams Rye has played this season. Very strong on O and D fundamentals which particularly showed in the earlier part of the game in ground ball battles, stripping the ball. Castellano #1 was obviously a dangerous player and after his 1st 2 goals, Rye then, belatedly (IMO) put their shut down pole, Collins on him, who then did a good job in holding him at bay for the rest of the game.

Rye’s O was sloppy in the beginning of the game needlessly giving up possessions and scoring opportunities to IP. Then the team settled down to grind it out with IP. The most outstanding player tonight and critical for Rye was Linehan, Rye’s goalie who played an incredible game making many great saves.

  67. PV-HH says:

Hen Hud jumped out to a 4 or 5-0 lead early. PV just didn’t show up at the beginning. They go through lulls of inconsistent play then turn it on when they need to. Looked similar to the Rye game where they didn’t show up till the second half.

I think the grass field had an affect on them too, which may have been the first time they played on grass all season. Such a slower game on grass.

  68. kr says:

Setter how did Cox look in goal for CSH? Was Morelli the difference or did Manhasset control play too?

  69. Setter says:

Cook had some chances but overall no one stood out on offense. Morelli was tremendous but Set was in control of the game so that even if he wasn’t as good as he was I’m pretty sure they would have pulled out the W.

  70. Doid23 says:

BlueWhite- Thanks for the info, I’ve spoken to Ross at a few youth clinics, just never knew they were from Wilton. Another Wilton note, did anyone catch the callout during the Notre Dame/ Syracuse game last week for Randy Colley, saying that he was the first big time recruit that Notre Dame landed, and started them on the path to credibility.

  71. slacrosse says:

    What a season!!!

Just shocked at Pac’s loss and PV barely getting by HH

  72. Just sayin says:

Joe interesting poll. I dk what to think about Hop??? I knew they would beat Loyola but I dk if they belong in the tourney at 7-7 but they’ll prob get in bc they’re Hop.

  73. laxified says:

Set was very active on D tonight. Aggressive slides on CSH middies like they had no fear of attack. They were probably right because Coleman,Duvnjak and Lawler physically dominated the CSH attack. Lee and Kennedy tried to dodge but there was always help when they did. Set moved the ball well on offense considering the wind which was brutal. The Set ride continues to be very strong. Cox made some nice stops for CSH but Set middies were able to penetrate while CSH was beaten up and shut off on the other end. Offense did more than enough for Set to win especially with that D. Gavin did a good job at LSM too.

  74. Laxer says:

Great IP Rye game kaiser played great and is also playing on one knee right now.

  75. laxinupsec1 says:

for once pacs defense is not the main reason for the loss. throughout the season the pacs d “gave away” a 6+ goals a game from sloppy d, i only noticed 2 give aways tonight. + they knocked a lot of people down. if the d shows up like they did last night, and pacs o doesnt let up, next few weeks are going to be very interesting for sec 1

  76. slacrosse says:

    Hey great game Hen Hud!!

  77. MAMlax101 says:

Bronxville beat Hen Hud no problem…verry weird.

  78. Dee-up says:

Seems the Valley plays to the Level of their opponent and with the exception of Ossinging and B.H. game where for some reason they came out of the box with some motivation. I think to most of us it seems obvious that if you let them hang around long enough they will flick the switch and turn it on, they have the horses.

I was surprised with pac game , and yes this is a wild season ,
Who will be motivated and who will realize to late that you have to bring your A game from the start of the whistle.

  79. Sect1 says:

If the regular season was to end right now, the seedings in B would go as follow, according to the “new” points system.

    1. John Jay
    2. Mamaroneck
    3. Fox Lane
    4. Ossining
    5. Eastchester
    6. Somers
    7. Brewster

Only in Section 1 can we see the 3 and 4 seed lose by a combined 18 goals to the 7 seed. Only in Section 1 can we see a win verse Hackly be worth one more point that a win verse Yorktown.

  80. Seedings says:

Yeh I agree the seedings formula needs to be revamped. But lax isnt the only sport that’s been a victim of it. In hockey I think Mamaroneck was a 5 seed and same in boys hoops. Mount Vernon was a 5 seed and won the section. Sooner or later if your the best team it shouldn’t really matter but still.

  81. Laxinupsec1 says:

What would seedings be for class a?

  82. Lax Novice says:

Seedings don’t matter. Who cares where you are seeded as long as you get in, you have to PLAY WELL to advance. Quit whining about seedings and focus on what you need to do when you get to the post-season. I assure you Yorktown doesn’t care where they are seeded, so neither should you.

  83. SWLAX says:

For all of those who say that the playoffs will ‘play out’ and that the best team will win, yes, you are right, but there are implications to section 1 that some aren’t taking into account.

If Somers ends up playing JJ is the quarter finals, and Yorktown ends up playing L/P in the semis, the contingent of college coaches at the section 1 finals is going to drop dramatically. Kids who otherwise may not have been on a coaches radar and would have received the proper look at the finals may lose that opportunity due to the new set-up. Now there are those who will say ‘it will just give that opportunity to other kids, coaches will still come and they’ll just get to see players from different schools.” To those I would respectively say maybe you’re right, but it’s unlikely. Do you think Section 2 gets the coaches that Section 1 does at their finals? No, and why, because the talent in each game is not worth the trip. If our final games aren’t worth the trip, there is the very real chance that the coaches are going to stop coming in the numbers and quality that they do now. If JJ plays any team on that list other than Somers in the finals, no one is going to want to see that.

The best team may win the tournament, but that’s not the point… the final may not end up being the ‘best game’ for section 1. The AD’s and district’s thinking of the ‘bottom line’ to save a few bucks in the re-organization of the leagues and tournament, didn’t seem to take any of these consequences into account.

  84. slacrosse says:

    SWLAX,

Yes of course Lax Novice is right and that hopefully the best team will win but you’re right as well.

Why not have the best team win in a playoff structure that makes sense!! This one is a joke!

  85. Long time laxer says:

Having gone thru the recruiting process with 1, and maybe going thru it with a second, does anyone really think that who shows up at sectional finals matters. It is all word of mouth, and if you coach a northern Westchester team, college coaches pay more attention. Its called the Yorktown Mafia, or the West Genesee mafia, or whatever you want. Now maybe those kids have earned it because they play better comp during the season, or are just plain better, but in truth it is a phone call to a friend who gets your kid noticed. If not, why is the best recruiting camp in the country, Jake Reed, always filled with kids who have already committed to a school. Because the college coach calls the camp and says he wants his kid to get an invite. Just the way it works.

  86. two cents in says:

I don’t think anybody is whining about the seedings, their making good points.

The downside to the point system is that better teams that play tougher schedules (and out of section games) may find themselves having to play road games because of their lower seeding. It matters especially when you consider that some teams are much better on turf than grass, etc.

The point system would not be so bad if it took into consideration head-to-head games and took away points for losing to a team.

The way it’s set up now you can only gain points or gain no points, but you cannot lose points.

I agree with long time laxer #85, it’s a network and success requires being tied into the network and the ability to pick up the phone or have a club coach make a call or two for you. Eddie Schurr’s a nice enough player, but it certainly helps that his dad is Tim, which might have had a hand in him committing to Hop as a jr. Mike Daniello is nice too and his brother at ‘Cuse certainly helped him into the network. The Bitter Bros…inside the loop. And the list goes on. Those guys can play, but they were looped in no matter when, where or who their high school teams play in the sectionals.

  87. no_style_points says:

    Sect1 that’s a really funny post. lol.

There are no style points. It makes no difference that those teams lost by 18, all they had to do was lose by 1 and a loss is a loss. That’s it.

What really matters is that they lost head to head and as such both teams should be penalized at least 2 or 3 ratings points. Whether or not that would be enough to move Brewster up ahead of them, I don’t know, but it would be wrong to move Brewster ahead of them based on that contingency alone as well.

Out of section wins are in there to reward upper level teams like Yorktown and such to go out and play against the best. The Hackley win by a public school team will be canceled out by any win by Yorktown (for example) against any of their out of section opponents.

…bottom line is they need to put in a downside for losing games, but not for the number of goals a team loses by…that would be style points and everybody knows how much i dislike style points!

…everybody root for Hopkins to get in!

  88. Europe '72 says:

two things: why does the seeding need so much transparency? that’s what this point system seems to be about. proving who “should” go where. during the Power League Era, non-PL teams would complain about unfair treatment, and bogus bias this and that. These “points” however they do or don’t work, don’t seem to be saving money. I don’t know how a system like that could save money. The same number of games are being played in the tournament and in-season.

That takes me to these “Leagues” that are set up, or not set up, in order to cut on travel costs, “geographically based”, yada yada. If you buy that noise, you should also buy a map. Armonk, Chappaqua, Somers and Katonah-Lewisboro literally enclose the Bedford School district completely. Yet John Jay plays Somers twice, Byram twice, Greeley twice, and not 1 game against fox lane. in fact, somers, JJ, byram, greeley and rye only play fox lane twice combined.

i am missing something i’m sure. but i’m missing a Section 1 boat somewhere, and i would love some one who knows more than me to help fill me on my mis-conceptions. thanks

    Dpac
On your post i see that you are missing some good points.First of all Brando was not shut doen he was slashed down.Five slashing penalties against 29 covering him should have been ten or more.pac s man up play is a joke.defense includes the goalie. How many saves did he have and how many open looks did Guilderlands O have.Good D is not all about the body it is putting the body between the man and the goal. They were outhustled but number 24 on D was beaten numerous times by the attackman he was covering. Better wake up on all cylinders if they want to beat LP

  90. dee-up says:

Do not see pac beating L/P all cylinders or not. Put me on the list of folks thats does not get the whole traveling to closer games stuff. bring back the power league, some of these games being played are no good for either team involved. In some cases a few teams come off the field demoralized.

    Projected Class C Seedings

    1 Pleasantville
    2 Putnam Valley
    3 Bronxville

    7 Byram Hills

    11 Hastings-on-Hudson
    12 North Salem
    13 Ardsley
    14 Haldane
    15 Irvington
    16. Croton/Kennedy

Here is the problem with this bracket… you have Rye, Bronxville, Byram and Putnam Valley all on one side of the bracket! You are going to have an opening round game of Byram v. Rye, a second round game of Rye/Byram v. Putnam Valley, and a third round game pitting the winner of that game v. Bronxville in the semi finals. Either one of those games will pit two better teams against one another then the final will.

    SWLAX,

If you’re correct, yes, its a real mess. A shame. Not saying the administrators were not well-intentioned, but the result of their efforts is very unfortunate and not fair to the kids and coaches of Section 1.

Talk about “not seeing the forest from the trees” .

  93. Old Rugger says:

I think Pville would pay good money for that draw, 4 of the 5 best contenders on one side IMO (PV, Rye, Bxville, BH).

  95. Casual observer says:

rye’s goalie played really well this weeeknd. if he can play like that for the rest of the year rye can make a deep playoff run. at first I thought IP was shotting at his stick and not making him earn his saves but he stepped up huge in the second half, even as iona’s shots got better. he got more involved in the clearing game in the secoind half as well. huge game for him. the rye cloud still hangs over iona prep’s head. gonna have to take them down to be among the elite in the region

  96. HH says:

i dont know if anyone is gonna see this since its a few days late now, but the in regards to the PV-Hen Hud game, hen hud was killing PV, they were playing to there potential, what killed HH was in the second half they were troubled by penalties and did not finish the few offensive opportunities they had in the second half, hitting pipe once or twice, HH should have won. And also someone said bronxville beat HH with ease, HH’s shots just couldnt find the back of the net that game or they possibly would have came out with a W in that game too.
