Smithtown West begins the season with high expectations.

The Bulls, who are ranked No. 23 in the Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse Preseason High School Power Rankings, hope to live up with them starting today as they face Walt Whitman in a 6 p.m. home game. The weather is likely to be rainy, but Smithtown West has a turf field, so that will help.

Other noteworthy games include Commack playing at West Babylon at 4:15 p.m. and Manhasset visiting South Side at 4:30 p.m.

There are no Section 1 games today, and Connecticut teams, of course, have yet to start the season.

As always, be sure to post your thoughts on these matchups as well as any info on the scores and game details.

    Nice game Tom….no sidearm, overhand!!!!

  3. laxified says:

Manhasset 12-8 over South Side. Game wasnt as close as score indicates. It was 10-2 Set when they pulled D with 9 minutes left and SS went on a quick run before they had to be sent back. A lot of young talent on this Set team with some good senior leadership.

  4. IslandLaxpert says:

    Chaminade 17, Monsignor Farrell 0

    Commack 10, West Babylon 9

  5. LI Lax says:

Smithtown West 11, Whitman 3…Keenan and Pannell with 3 each

  6. O-Bro says:

Way to go Tom! Congrats from your bros from Ossining!

  7. Jericho says:

How did the Set offense look without Connor English?

  8. laxified says:

The offense is pretty much spread around. Ball movement improved from the first game with offense coming from uptop as well as low. Don’t see Manhasset being down at all.
