It was an action-filled and eventful day at the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore with two of the three games resulting in 11-10 overtime finishes.
Grant Catalino scored early in overtime to give No. 6-ranked Maryland an 11-10 win over No. 9 Duke to start the day.
Then, seventh-ranked Princeton outlasted fifth-ranked Hopkins 11-10 in OT on a goal by senior attackman Scott MacKenzie 59 seconds into overtime.
Former Port Washington star Jeff Froccaro had four goals for Princeton. The freshman midfielder had three goals in the Tigers’ season-opening win over Hofstra.
No. 3 Notre Dame edged No. 10 Loyola 11-9 in the third game of the day.

Yale upset No. 12 UMass 13-12 today on former Chaminade star Matt Gibson’s fifth goal of the game. Gibson had nine goals in Yale’s first two games. Teammate Brian Douglass, an all-American at John Jay, has five goals and two assists in two games.
In another big game today, No. 15 Harvard held off upset-minded Holy Cross 9-7 as former Garden City star Dean Gibbons scored four goals for the Crimson. Teammate Jeff Cohen, the former Syosset standout, had two goals. Holy Cross goalie Connor Sweeney, who was an all-American for John Jay, made 14 saves.
No. 11 Hofstra picked up its first win by beating No. 19 Brown 15-12.
Eighth-ranked Cornell beat visiting Army 12-11 in overtime on a goal by Ryan Hunter. Earlier in the game, Hunter, who had four goals, scored his 100th career goal. He also had three assists. Army outscored the Big Red 3-1 in the fourth quarter to force OT. Garrett Thul had four goals and an assist for the Black Knights. Cornell freshman defenseman Thomas Keith of Syosset drew his first collegiate start.

Compliments to Army for a terrific game plan and well played game. They would have been very deserving had they pulled it out which they almost did..
What’s up with Hop? The offense has been horrible the last two games. They went about 15 minutes without scoring yesterday despite the score.
Great environment in Baltimore yesterday. I really enjoyed the day. I would say I think a doubleheader is ideal. We wound up leaving at halftime of the ND-Loyola game for that reason which is too bad because under normal conditions I would have enjoyed watching the whole thing. Still, a great day of lax.
How bout Matty White and the Cavs beating JoJo and the orange?
