A total of 16 players from the Hudson Valley/Long Island/Connecticut region are among the 64 men’s college lacrosse standouts named to the 2010 Tewaaraton Watch List today.

The Teewaraton Trophy is awarded to the college player of the year.

The players from the region named to the Watch List are:

Parker McKee, Duke, sr., defense, Old Greenwich
Rob Pannell, Cornell, so., attack, Smithtown

    I don’t understand how Finnerty made this list and his teammate Cooper MacDonnell did not. Cooper has had more points than him every year, and has consistently outperformed Finnerty in big games against the likes of Georgetown and Syracuse. Also, there is the terrific performance against Navy (6G, 1A) in which MacDonnell completely carried Loyola on his back.

    Unfortunately no Hudson Valley players on the men’s list but way to go Katrina Dowd from Yorktown for making the women’s list.

    Finnerty also grew up in Manhasset. He played youth and middle school lacrosse in Manhasset before attending Chaminade.
