    Hey Joe,

Too bad you didn’t get another chance to “interview” Dino as you did at Harrison on his latest REALLY controversial call last night to run and not punt on 4th down on POK’s 46yr line with around 40 seconds to go and Rye leading 20-19!!

Well I guess if you’re really groping for a silver lining in this loss, at least the 10 or so lacrosse kids that play football can get an earlier start on Fall/Winter lacrosse!!

    Hey Joe

Do you know when the 2010 lax schedules will come out?

  4. Joe Lombardi says:

That was an unbelievable finish, SL. A lot of interesting strategic decisions, for sure, including Poughkeepsie’s decision to go for the win with a 2-point conversion that failed after pulling within one.

For those interested, here is how the sectional final lineup tentatively looks now for next weekend at Mahopac. (Games will be Saturday and Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday because of SATs.)

    Section 1 finals at Mahopac

    Saturday, Nov. 7

    Class A – Poughkeepsie vs. Roosevelt, 2 p.m.
    Class B – Sleepy Hollow vs. Nanuet, 5 p.m.
    Class D – Tuckahoe vs. Haldane, 8 p.m.

    Sunday, Nov. 8

Class AA – North Rockland vs. New Rochelle, 1 p.m.
    Class C – Croton vs. Bronxville, 5 p.m.

    laxxin –

As for 2010 varsity lax schedules, many could be finalized by the end of November.

    Joe,

Dont know which call was more bizzare. I guess Dino’s as Rye lost the game!

  6. Joe Lombardi says:

Though the Poughkeepsie call for 2 surprised me, it did make sense. On the road, in the closing seconds, you have a chance to win the game there. Also, most importantly, in HS football, an extra point for most teams is anything but automatic.

Last year, Croton-Harmon went for 2 and the win in the closing second at Dobbs and got it, to end Dobbs’ 69-game win streak vs. Section 1 teams.

Happy Halloween everyone, and don’t forget to fall back (Daylight Savings Time) tonight.

Joe any update on the Fairfield fall torny yesterday?

  9. Joe Lombardi says:

Old timer – I didn’t attend. Hopefully we’ll get some info posted here from someone who was on hand.
