galassoWest Islip’s Nicky Galasso, shown in action at left last night
against Hicksville, scored five goals to match his jersey number.

Yorktown and West Islip both suffered crushing losses to Syosset in last year’s playoffs. Now, they’re each within a game of playing for a state title.

Connor English of Manhasset has enjoyed one of the most storied careers of any high school player this decade. Can he end it with a state title?

And how about Class B, where two teams — Niskayuna and Sayville — who were relative unknowns at the outset of this decade are now on the brink of a state championship.

There are plenty of interesting story lines, indeed.

Before we preview and predict the games, let’s check out Thursday’s state semifinal schedules for Middletown and Rochester:

Previewing the downstate semifinals

Three things to watch

Remember Syosset: Both West Islip and Yorktown do. Last year, West Islip fell to the Braves in the Long Island championship game, and then Yorktown dropped a heartbreak to Syosset in the state semifinals. Both the Lions and ‘Huskers have pointed to those games as motivating forces for them this season. One of those teams will bounce back by advancing to this year’s state finals.

Sayville … Say what?: Few would have projected the Golden Flashes would be Long Island’s representative in the state semifinals. After all, Sayville had never won a Suffolk championship prior to this season — and then it trailed Nassau champ Garden City by four goals in tonight’s championship game. But every year, it seems, a surprise team emerges from the Island, showing the depth and parity of Long Island lax. This year, that team is Sayville.

Speaking English: Manhasset’s Connor English, the University of Virginia-bound star attackman, is as accomplished a player as there is in the country. But he has yet to win a state title. This season, he’s been on a mission to do precisely that — namely to give the Indians what would be their third state crown overall and first since 2004.

Game previews

Class A – West Islip  vs. Yorktown: This game takes on added importance since many will view it as the de facto state championship game in light of West Genesee’s stunning quarterfinal-round loss to Ithaca.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Why would we? After all, this is one of the best and most eagerly awaited state semifinal games in years.

Both teams fell to Ward Melville, but other than that, their respective résumés are pretty impressive. (Save a loss to Wilton in Yorktown’s final regular-season game.)

And the stars will be shinining here Thursday. Yorktown has a pair of Hopkins-bound scoring machines — senior midfielder John Ranagan and junior attackman Kevin Interlicchio — as well as two fellow all-Americans on defense in John Fennessy (Towson) and Ethan Fox (Marist) and a four-year starter in goal in Michael Bonitatibus.

The Lions are equally loaded. After all, they have arguably the nation’s best player in North Carolina-bound junior attackman Nicky Galasso along with fellow UNC recruit Ian Braddish, a midfielder, and four other D-I recruits.

If you’re a HS lax fan anywhere within driving distance, you don’t miss this one.

Prediction: West Islip 10, Yorktown 9 (OT)

• For North County News sports editor Isaac Cass’ in-depth preview of the West Islip-Yorktown game, click here.

Class B – Sayville vs. Niskayuna: Both these programs are relative upstarts on the statewide scene when compared to the Yorktowns and Manhassets of the world. After all, Sayville has fielded a varsity program just nine years. Niskayuna, though now nationally renowned, was a relative unknown at the outset of this decade.

What does all this mean? They’re both pretty  hungry and pretty eager to win a first-ever state championship in a year in which the title appears to be there for the taking.

Nisky coach Mike Vorgang is a defensive guru who runs suffocating schemes that shut down high-powered offenses. The Silver Warriors run a patient offense that is led by senior midfielders Dan McKinney and Jared Franze. McKinney is bound for Georgetown. Franze is headed to Hartford. RPI-bound goalie James Manchester anchors the defense.

Though Sayville may not have any Divison I-bound recruits, it has excellent team chemistry and some outstanding athletes. Case in point Dillon Boos, who was a standout quarterback for the Golden Flashes.

Prediction: Niskayuna 9, Sayville 7

Class C – Manhasset vs. Putnam Valley: Like Sayville, Put Valley has no D-I recruits. But the Tigers are a senior-laden team that plays extremely well together, led by all-American midfielder Jimmy van de Veeerdonk, Dillon Chesnut (who scored his 100th career goal against Rye in the sectional final) and attackman Kyle Calabro.

English gets most of the attention, but the Indians have plenty of talent at other spots, especially on defense, where Harvard-bound Brad Cappellini was named Nassau County defenseman of the year. Attackman/midfielder Kevin Heenan is headed to Penn, defenseman Matt Rubertone is bound for Fairfield, and the Indians have an astonishing nine other players bound for premier D-III programs, including Amherst and Middlebury.

Prediction: Manhasset 12, Putnam Valley 5

    Yorktown 12 WI 11
    Nisky 13 Sayville 8
    Manhasset 15 PV 4

I really think Town pulls this one off. BIG BIG game from Ranagan.

  2. LI Lax says:

    WI 9, Town 7
    Nisky 8, Sayville 4
    Set 16, PV 5

  3. cusetitle80s says:

Wow!!!! YORKTOWN vs. WEST ISLIP….very much could be the best H.S game of the year..

3 of the best offensive players playing in 1 game….Ranagan (Hop), Interlicchio (Hop), Galasso (Unc)

Gonna be awesome! Cant even make a prediction for this one…

  4. John FANagan says:

    Intriguing to say the least…

Yorktown fans chanting “We want Islip”

and the rumor is that the WI fans were chanting, “We want Yorktown”

The Crop has informally accepted this as a challenge, and for a far away game… expect a turnout.

This has all the ingredients for the matchup of the century.

PREDICTION: Yorktown 9 West Islip 8

Fenn does what he does, locks down the best players (Chris Bocklet- this time around is Nicky Galasso).

Yorktown proves that Defense takes you places… KI takes it personally that there is even a contest on the field of a better attackmen,

KI puts in 2, Ranagan puts in 3, Tom “The Riddler” Casey puts in 2, Remy puts in 1, and I’m going out on a limb– Mikey B putting in a goal… WI will be too busy trying to handle the big guns, and they will let Michael free…. It happened vs Chaminade; it’s destined to happen again…

So many storylines to go by…
    “Interlicchio vs. Galasso”
    “Hopkins Duo vs. UNC Duo”
    “Fenn vs. Galasso”

Forget the headlines, they should only count as subtitles… it’s Yorktown vs West Islip… and we’re in for a barn burner…

  5. toy says:

haha all these town people voting for interliccio….

u will see thursday why both galasso and white are better than KI

  6. jade says:

The two man game of yorktown will come back to bite them. Y town shut down again in the sem finals 7-4

Lucky they moved up to class A because Nisky would of beat y town

  7. sec1fan says:

    Toy, why you hateing

Interlicchio is an All American, leading scorer, 2x Captain, has record breaking numbers, 4year starter and is going to Hopkins…

Galasso has basically the same resume as well…

Both players are great, guess we’ll see who has more heart of Thurs and leads their team to the finals…Good luck to both!

  8. Btop says:

Jade is right. Nisky wouldve killed Town. Marr is veru clever oretending to want to win a Class A title when he was really just ducking Nisky. Well I guess he wasn’t “Coach of the Year” for no reason after all. Haha.

  9. WhaleBelt says:

    WI 10, YT 8
Nisky 13, Say 7 (I hope Sayville gets a beatdown)
    Set 14, PV 6

  10. Lions Den says:

Joe Thanks for the photo of Nicky from the game last nite. Best player in the nation on the best team in the nation. As Inside Lacrosse wrote in a cover story on our boys in the most recent issue “Meet New York’s Biggest High School Empire.” Play with pride and passion Thursday and it won’t be close!
    WI 12, Yorktown 5

  11. playoffs33 says:

Wow, listen to all this trash talk done by the boys on the Island!!! You guys are pretty funny with all your talk…Im not even from Yorktown BUT I can tell you the reason Ytown stayed in class A was to play the best, not talking about West Islip but how Ytown wanted to play West Genne in the finals but now that WG is out, looks like Ytown will settle for West Islip

ps- its not a good idea to trash talk about Ytown, believe me, Ranagan doesnt need anymore steam to run thru anyone that stands in his way…

  12. lazers46 says:

No one in the country can guard Ranagan, he just runs thru ppl lol…

    Hopkins duo tops Unc duo…

    Good luck to both 😉

  13. dehead76 says:

    Btop,
If you know anything about Yorktown Lacrosse you would know that they duck absolutley no one, well bc, they can be anyone!!! Yorktown dismantled Nisky last year, why would they duck them when they returned everybody including 2 of the best players in the country lol…. The reason they stayed in A was in the hopes of playing West Gennese for the title….
West Genne and Yorktown have the richest traditions in HS lacrosse and go back a long way…
Good luck to both teams this Thursday.

  14. twinlax says:

there are some great story lines throughout the bracket in NYS

In Class A Ithaca beating WG…how good is this Ithaca team? Orchard Park destroying a pretty strong Webster Thomas team. And of course the great showdown between Y’town and WI.

In Class B, Nisky indeed looks to be strong…can they give Section 2 it’s first state title? Never count out the LI or Section 3 teams however…right John Jay fans? And Canandaigua who has built a very strong program in Class A the past few years might just have what it takes to bring a title to Section 5.

In Class C, things seem to be lining up for a great Manhasset-Lafayette battle in the finals but Penn Yan and PV will not be pushovers.

Too bad I’m too far away to get to Middletown and then Rochester. These matchups are very interesting. Good luck to all

  15. Indian J says:

West Islip and Yorktown is indeed an intriguing match up. Both teams are very talented this year and both pack an offensive punch. West Islip is a team that has come to prominence within the last eight years or so and Yorktown is one of the most well known programs in the United States. I saw West Islip play earlier this year and think they have a slight advantage over Yorktown. Although Yorktown has the best middie in the state in Ranagan and a coaching staff that would tango with a NCAA division I program, I think that Galasso and the rest of the WI offense will give Yorktown’s D and apparent lack of depth a difficult time. West Islip is not infallible, but they are more skilled than this Yorktown team. Too much is made of last year’s Syosset squad, as it was, that gave Yorktown more of a chance last year than it would have had against West Islip.

    West Islip 10 Yorktown 7

Niskayuna vs. Sayville is another mathcup that you want to get to for the first draw. It will be exciting and not the half court matchup that Niskayuna prefers. Niskayuna is a well oiled robot that makes very few if any mistakes, particularly on defense and has an offense that is very apt to skip a pass and make good decisions. Everything about this Niskayuna team says state championship and they have the record to go with it. They crushed Somers yesterday and are eager to lay into a Sayville squad that nobody had heard of until yesterday. Niskayuna could be the first Section II team to win a state championship but Sayville beat Garden City yesterday. Garden City. Sayville was down four goals and took the Long Island Championship from a team who has won it so many times that additions need to be put on to the school to house the trophies. They didn’t need sudden death either.

    Sayville 9 Niskayuna 8

Manhasset will have little difficulty with a determined but outmatched Putnam Valley, who’s lineage of Lakeland/Panas and Yorktown will hardly be noticed tomorrow. Manhasset is too good and Putnam Valley does not match them in any facet of the game.

    Manhasset 13 Putnam Valley 2

  16. twinlax says:

Agreed that Yorktown doesn’t duck anyone — look at their schedule and compare it to Nisky and it’s not even close. By staying in Class A they knew that they had to get by a West Islip or Ward Melville or Syosset or some other Sect 8/11 powerhouse and then they would likely get West Genny. If anything you could argue that they didn’t want to be in Class B because of John Jay and Somers being among the strongest programs in Section 1, but as it turns out L-P almost knocked them off. I think the reason they stayed in A is because they want to win a Class A State Championship…nothing more, nothing less. I think they view the Class A title as indicative of the best team in the state.

  17. LaxTruth says:

you need to consider the facts, and leave out the emotion.

Class A- Y’town vs, West Islip: WI wins easily: 14-7.
-Y’town defense has shown its weaknesses all season.
WI has the offensive diversity to take advantage.
    – Y’town is really a 1 trick pony…. take away the outside shooting, & there is no offense. No inside game at all. Rannagan was shut down by Lakeland easily.
-exciting game but very predictable. Y’town allows on the avg 6 goals/game, while WI allows only 4.5goals/game. Even if all offense was equal, which it is not, WI defense will make the difference.

Class B- Nisky vs. Sayville: Nisky wins 13-3.
-Nisky allows on the avg 2 goals/game. Has to be the #1 defense in the state in any class. You need to consider the fact that all games, the 2nd line plays the 4Q.(defense/offense) Very stingy 1 line defense.

Nisky lead Somers 9-3 at the half. 2nd lines played much of the 2nd half

Nisky vs. Y’town…. are you serious?? look at the facts once again: Nisky avgs over 12 scores/game, allowing only 2. In 2009- no contest Nisky sends home Y’town with less than 5 offensive goals. That takes into consideration & allows for Y’town’s huge offensive talent.

  18. golax88 says:

LaxTruth, looks like you got it all figured out huh?

Seems to me ur just a little afraid of Ytown coming in and knocking off your precious WI boys…

Nisky would have certainly lost to Yorktown AGAIN because there is no stopping Ytowns offense when the move the ball like they did yesterday…Interlicchio and Ranagan are unstoppable when they play their A game, and something tells me that they will be a little excited for tomorrow 😉

  19. Re-LAX-N says:

Simple logic , If Yorktown plays the way they did yesterday, Focused and in control, they will have a good shot at knocking off West Islip. They need to win the face off battle and control ground balls. With that said if they play like they did against L/P they will get crushed. I think coach Marr has eye on prize and I would not be surprised if Town comes out a winner.

Town 8 West Islip 7. (Town would have beat Nisky, Because of Ranaga, Interlicchio, Casey, Lieberman. In addition Yorktowns D has taken a lot of heat lately but comes up big in big games. And they will need to Thursday. They can’t afford to get down by two goals or more. Otherwise”I’ts over Johnny” .

Again Town 8 West Islip 7
Nisky should win by 7 or so in my opinion Nisky 14 Sayville 6
The ride is over for Put Valley Manhasset de-claws the Tigers 10-5.

  20. laxbus says:

…that’s why they play the game…let the boys tell us tomorrow what is what.

    Go Nisky

  21. syracuse says:

    LaxTruth,

You make many valid points, but I also think you are relying just a bit too much on the calculator. Nisky allowing 2 goals a game is a tremendous accomplishment, but it did it against, let’s face it, very weak competition. Somers actually scored more goals against Nisky yesterday than it had allowed in any one game this season. And Somers is a very good team, but it’s not Yorktown. I would venture to say Sayville would have beaten Somers by a similar score if they had played yesterday.

I think picking Nisky by 10 over Sayville is a bigtime reach. I think Nisky will win, too, but by 10? I guess we’ll see. To me, I could see Nisky winning by anywhere from 1-4 goals. Then again, Meehan and Mellynchuk are about as unstoppable 1-2 punch as you’ll find on the Island right now.

I think your math actually works for your West Islip argument because pound for pound the daily rigors of Section 11 far exceeds anything Section 1 or Section 2 (and actually probably every other section in the state, save for maybe 3 and possibly 8) produces on a daily basis. West Islip allowing just 4 goals per game is very impressive considering the competition out in Suffolk.

Just a quick segue back to Sayville, it dropped 12 on Garden City, which was largely believed to be one of the best defensive teams on Long Island. I watched GC do a really nice job against English and all the talented players on Manhasset and was really impressed. So for Sayville to do what it did last night, I think sets the stage for a really memorable semifinal against Nisky.

And I also believe Nisky needs this win more than Sayville. Besides the inner pressure the Flashes will put on themselves, this can be viewed as a house money game because it’s already the best season in Sayville history. Meanwhile, Nisky is the only show in its section and appears to desperately want state-wide recognition as more than a regional wonder. Nisky really needs a state title for legitimacy as a program. Its only foray into the state finals ended terribly vs. West Genny and it hasn’t been back.

If I’m Sayville I play loose and fast because I have nothing to lose. Nisky, however, will need to rise above that squeezing of the stick mentality that is possible when the expectations are astronomical.

    Just my $.02

  22. LaxTruth says:

Lacrosse is a game won by scoring one more goal than your opponent. There fore, possesion, defense, and scores matter.

WI will win the game tomorrow against Y’town, there just a better team, by statistics, and style.

As for Nisky, I actually witnessed Nisky play WG this fall. Nisky won 9-1. No doubt WG is a btter program overall though.

Nisky did allow 5 goals yesterday, with their 2nd line goalie starting. The also had a goal differentail of 9 even with their 2nd line offense in the 2nd half.

Nisky also held John Jay scoreles for 3.5 quarters, when then the 2nd line allowed 2 goals. In all their games, the score total is reflecting a much lower total, than could be.

Sayville- the forecast on that game is based on a careful analysis of matchups, not arrogance.

btw- Garden City allowed 4.5 goals/game. Almost 50% of their opponents had a losing record……. how could they be considered to be one of the greatest dfensive teams on LI? sounds like a “legend in their own mind”…syndrome

“The need for a state title”- who doesn’t need one?? ….anybody have too many?

  23. Re-LAX-N says:

    Let’s get it on–

Wow I can’t wait until Thursday’s games. What great games what great story lines.

For Yorktown it’s simple play a full 48 minutes control face-off ground balls and limit man down opportunities and I think you can come away with a W. It wont be easy, (D) has to play tremendous Fennesey, Fox, Brunelle, Cabriele. Mike B has to come up big in goal. But they can do it, and with potent offense I see Yorktown comming away with a W. If they get down by two goals or more even early in game , It’s like Major Trautman said “It’s over Johnny”

    Town 8 West Islip 7,
P.S. Both Yorktown and West Islip would have beaten Nisky, They both have more tallent .

I see Nisky however having very little problems tomorrow, I think they roll

    Nisky 14 Sayville 7

And I am afraid the Tigers from Put Valley get de-clawed

    Manhasset 15 Put Valley 5
In any case should be some great games , I hope they are clean I wish everyone good luck, and let’s hope the games are clean and no one get’s injured.

    Let’s go “TOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNN

  24. Shoeshine Boy says:

not plane nor train or little ol frog look out Manhasset for the underdog any given day who shows up GO PUTNAM VALLEY BRING IT HOME

  25. Doid23 says:

What a fantastic draw after the yesterdays games! I’ll say it again, is there a better state lax tourney that even comes close to this?

A: Both Ithaca and OP are wildcards that could shake this thing up. I’m intrigued by their game, and think whoever comes out of Upstate will compete very well with the downstate rep. Seems to be a really balanced Final 4. WI and Town goes without saying, this is what the NYS Tourney is all about. Although my heart says Town, I think WI takes them. I think Mike B is the key to the game for Town, if he can stand on his head I think they’ve got a chance, but if not they lose. Need something special from him on Thursday to advance.

B: Another stacked and balanaced draw. None of these teams winning the title would surprise me. JD-Canandaigua, I like Ca. Nisky – Sayville has a lot of unknowns, I think Nisky is the favorite, although Sayville showed me something in coming back against GC, especially after being down 5-1, coach being ejected, and killing the 3 min. unr. Rooting for Nisky (lived there for 6 years), but I’m taking Sayville in an upset, just a gut feel, most likely wrong.

C: Potential game of the year if Lafayette gets by PY, which I think they will. Manhasset-PV the only potentially lopsided game going in, a PV win would be the only win in the entire class A,B or C semifinals that would surprise me.

  26. Doid23 says:

Also, this may be one of the most even semi’s amongst all classes, in the sense that I’m not sure that A, B, and C classes relate to quality of teams. I’d think any team vs. any other would be a very good match, e.g. Manhasset v. Canandaigua, Nisky v. WI, Lafayette v. Town, etc. I still think that WI is top dog, but you could scramble the teams regardless of class and still end up with a great final four.

  27. Re-LAX-N says:

    Wow,
I can’t wait until Tomorrow’s games. They should be exciting and fun to watch . Ofcourse the key game Is the 5:30 matchup between perenial powers Yorktown and West Islip. I wish every team that plays tommorow luck, and hope the games are clean and no one get’s injured. As for predictions I am going in reverse order.

In C. Set 15- Put Valley 5, I am afraid the Tigers get de-clawed, set just to good and knows how to play in theese games

In B. Nisky 15 Sayville 7. Nisky real good this year, they have some really good talent and should win this one going away

In A. I like in a small upset TOWN 9 West Islip 8. That is ofcourse if Town plays the way they they did last night. Keys to the game as I see it, Town has to control face-offs as well as ground balls. Both teams have outstanding Ofensive stars. Both teams have solid goalies. I think if Towns D Brunelle, Cabriele, Fox, Fennesey can slow down West Islip O they will win a close game. Both teams have winning traditions and I think we are in for a treat. In addition I think both teams would have beat Nisky in B. Sorry one.Jade, Btop LaxTruth. Town and West Islip both played monster National schedules. Niskywhile very strong just does not measure up. looking at the facts. Again best of luck to all, “Let’s get it on”

  28. Re-LAX-N says:

    Check

  29. Re-LAX-N says:

I don’t know why I have not been able to get in all day?.
    O.K. here we go
Class C set 14- Put Valley 5. Set to much fire power.
Class B Niskiy 14 Sayville 7 Nisky just to strong
Class A In a sma;llupset Town 9 West Islip 8 That is of course if Town Plays like they did yesterday. Both teams have outstanding Players on offense . Both teams have outstanding players on Defense and both teams have battle tested goalies. If Town controls face-off, as well as ground balls, and limits man down situations I think they pull out a close one. In addition no dis respect to Nisky fans, or jade, Btop, or Lax-Truth but Both Town and West Islip would dismantle Nisky they both play a brutal National schedule and are just to strong. Let’s hope all the game tomorrow are fun, excitiong, and most of all no one get’s hurt.
Cuse- Do you know upstate start time.

  30. Re-LAX-N says:

What the heck is going on?
Class C Set 14 Put Valley 5 Put Valley gets de-clawed Set to talented
Clas B Nisky 14 Sayville 7 Nisky to much talent this year they could go all the way
Class A In a small upset Town 9 West Islip 8 That is if Yorktown plays like they did yeaterday. Keys to game for Town Control Face-offs control ground ball, Limit Man Down opportunities. In addition Both town and West Islip would dis mantle Nisky both played a strong National schedule and both have to much talent. Sorry jade,Btop and Lax-Truth

  31. Re-LAX-N says:

    Cuse –
You out there? do you know upstate schedule

  32. Doid23 says:

Would Town and WI beat Nisky? Perhaps, they would certainly be the favorites. Dismantle? I don’t think so. ANd WI doesn’t play a strong national schedule, just a LI schedule, which is plenty strong.

  33. Re-LAX-N says:

    Diod23

I guess dismantle is a bit strong, However I contend because of the strength of the schedule both teams play and the caliber of players on both teams who practice each day against one another I just do not see Nisky getting by either, granted they had a very good year, But they were never really challenged by the likes of Town or West Islip or St. Anthonys , Chamibade, Darieb or ward Melville. Like I said they are a very good team and have a lot to be proud of I just don’t think they would beat either Town or West Islip. Who knows maybe next year we will see, Or maybe they will have a champins tournament and the winners of each class play eachother in the ultimat championship.

  34. Syracuse says:

    Re-LAX-N,

Everything all right my friend? You seem a little out of sorts.

  35. Re-LAX-N says:

    Cuse-

I have been in a traing class the past two days. Trying to teach business ethics to people who complain more than children do. It is unbelievable. I am not out of sorts but I am over tired. A few of my responsed although not intended that way may have been a bit harsh But you are right it is all good and tomorrow will be here soon enough. Have a great night I/m going to kick it with my wife and friends for the remainder of the night. Again good luck to each team and every player tomorrow.

  36. Re-LAX-N says:

    Wow-
You know you have had a long day, when your wife tells you that the e-mails you had sent earlier in day actually posted. I am so embarased. We had internet issues earlier and I did not think my comments posted. That is the reason there are so many. Instead of kicking it with my wife and friends I think I’ll watch the Yanks Red Sox game and chill for the remainder of the night.

  37. Syracuse says:

    Re-LAX-N,

Or you could do what I’m doing, watching the Yankees-Red Sox and talking lax! Wang is a disaster. …

  38. dee-up says:

Re-lax-n ease up on the coffee

Tomorrow is a huge day. THE CROP will be rolling into Middletown with two buses. Just sayin’, it’s going to get wild.

TGF checking in from Long Island. I can’t wait to see these games tomorrow. I’m really excited to see some of these teams I’ve been going on and on about on other lacrosse websites. Finally being able to see some of these players; English, Galasso, KI, JR, Fenn and the Nisky defense…needless to say, this lacrosse fan can’t wait until tomorrow afternoon.

    WI 10 Town 9
    Nisky 9 Sayville 5
    Set 14 PV 4

  42. Doid23 says:

Cool GFan, hope the games don’t disappoint. Too bad these semi’s aren’t at MIchie/ West Point, THAT would be fantastic, athough Middletown is a good venue.

TGF, I think its great that you guys made the drive up to check out the semis, but its too bad your gonna be wrong on the Town game.

  45. Syracuse says:

This GilmanFan character is something else. He’s been texting me all morning telling me about all the nice high schools he’s actually went and visited (as if he’d ever leave the luxury of an MIAA-based existence).

So far on his travels he’s seen Ward Melville, West Islip, St. Anthony’s and he’s going to see Huntington, CSH and Garden City as he and LILax make their way across Suffolk, into Nassau and then over the bridges toward Middletown for today’s extravaganza.

    That is dedication.

On a side note, this guy is a monster. Picture Jets offensive lineman Alan Faneca, but smarter. So local shop owners in southern Westchester on up should hang giant placards along I-87. You never know. Gilman may just come in and clean you out.

Call it stimulus money southern hospitality style.
